This car is being auctioned in Monterey. Does anyone have any info on it. Does anyone have an opinion on buying a car at auction with a limited description and not having a PPI? How does one value a car not having a PPI?

I looked at my RM catalog the other day for the upcoming auctions in Monterey, and I seem to recall reading something in the catalog that RM can accomodate some sort of PPI or inspection, and not just the casual pre-auction walk-around inspections in the outside lot. My suggestion is that you call them. On the other hand, you could also contact Tom Shaughnessy (Tom posts on FCHAT quite often), or Bruce or Spencer Trenery at Fantasy Junction to check out what they've got in inventory. I found all of them to be very helpful when I bought my current GT and sold my GTS.

Gooding had a 206 that went for about 175 (I see did not write the price in my catalog)

Within the "Normal" price ranges, depending on condition (I haven't seen either so can't speak to that)...

    GT at $115k + comission = $126.5k
    GTS at $160k + comission = $176k

That car was a "bitsa." As the catalog pointed out, it had been in an accident, resulting in the replacement of the front end with a 246 front end. It looked pretty good in the tent though.
