I haven't been looking for very long, can anyone comment on how quickly market on 360s is moving or has it been pretty steady at these prices?

Is it worth paying the extra premium for an 04? Seems that 03s and older are noticeably cheaper.

No but it is worth paying a premium for a car in great shape, good records and service history. You will also pay a premium for red/tan.

88-95 good condition with a clean PPI.
IMO, if an '03 is much cheaper, it will have some issues. It doesn't seem that the price difference corresponds with the year difference (i.e.: get the new one for a little more $$).

I agree. Black would be my second choice, not sure about third...TDF or some other shade of blue?

I don't like grey cars in general at all.... just on the remote chance any one was wondering about that.

Well, actually in volume of sales yellow came in second behind red, not black. Black is a very cool choice and there are a couple of choices in black/nero.

anymore opinions on price? It seems quite a few on the board have purchased a 360 recently. From reading other threads it seems that the very most that should be paid for a 360 coupe is 95k and maybe less. Would you all agree?

From what I have observed over the past couple of months, the "360 pricing formula" cited above is inaccurate (biased) and tends to overprice the cars by about $15-$20,000. His data for his survey was a junky because he only used the asking prices but not the market clearing prices (where the sales actually occured). In other words it is only accurate if you want to predict what someone would ask for their car, not necessarily what they would accept. It's a little misleading to call it a pricing formula. As we approach the turn of the year and also the introduction of the 458, prices will likely soften. If you want to find a 360 in great shape for $88k, just wait -- eventually the price will get there as these are constantly depreciating assets.

stick shift cars have been getting a premium as well- fewer made, and seems the % of 360 buying population that wants stick has been increasing over time (people buying a 6-11 year old car that don't care about 0.2 seconds better lap time at fiorano, want less servicing costs, more classic driving experience, classic look of the gated shifter, etc)

In my case I didn't want an F1- wouldn't matter if a comparable F1 car were $20K less- just my preference/requirement. (599GTB maybe I'd want F1 vs stick...)

Anyway, my experience was that some cars cleared the market at low prices a few months ago in the darkest days of the recession, but now it seems clean/non-stories 360s have stabilized...spring will keep prices from falling in a few months as well. I'm not saying the 360 won't depreciate more, just that it fell so much w/recession I don't foresee anything moving prices for the clean cars in a big way the next 18 or so months.

The '03-'04 cars do get some more money vs 99-00, but unfortunately I don't know the F1 market well enough to comment on worth of the 04 you are specifically asking about- all I know from my months of looking is that the sticks have a little different market. My guess is mid-high $90's on the '04 F1 w/10k miles...

one thing is for sure- if you buy a great example you won't care if it was $5-10K more as (1)making a non-perfect car perfect will quickly cost that and (2) this is so much car for the money- the experience, sound, sculpted lines- it's quite amazing. #1 and #2 are both equal in importance for each side of the brain (the side that does the financial/logical thinking and the other side that has all the fun in life ;) )

Please let us know what you do & if you get the car post some pictures...we're a bunch of eye candy vultures here on f-chat!

quick edit- I just checked your profile and it says you're getting a 430 in 1-2 months.....is this info request for someone else?

thanks for the info. That is more in line with what I would like to pay. All things considered I would like to stick around 85-90 especially if that recent thread is correct and 07 430s with 3k miles are already down to the low 120s.

as far as my profile, no the info request is for me. The last time I updated my profile was a couple years back. I had a new 430 Spider and put about 5k miles on it and then sold it because I had to move abroad for a year for business which actually turned out well for me as the bottom really fell out on a lot of these cars right after I sold mine.

What attracts me to the 360 is that I have always thought it was better looking than the 430 and if you can pick up a nice car for 90k how can you go wrong. In my opinion its an incredible amount of car for the $. I asked a few friends what they thought between the 360 vs an R8 and disappointingly to me they all said they would rather go for the R8, but I think there crazy. Especially when you consider and R8 will run you 30k more and will give you no where near the experience of the Ferrari.

Only thing I find disappointing about the 360 is that in my opinion even in its prime and especially by todays standards it is really a slow car.

I don't know that you could get the '04 F1 for $85K- that sounds low to me even factoring in the F1, but I don't know the market as well, and it is yellow...I think it's still a good buy if you could get it at $90K.

I don't agree with your comment on the 360 being slow- I mean, how much speed do you need? I drove a fellow f-chatter's Enzo and 599- both were insanely fast, but of course you're in a different league money wise with either of those.

The R8 and 360 are two cars that may seem similar (mid-engine 2 seaters), but have very different personalities.

At the end of the day you need to decide what you want- more common everyday car mixed with looks and sporty experience get R8, need for speed get ZR1 or ZO6 corvette. You had a 430 so I don't need to explain the whole ferrari experience to you if you want a 360 ;)

Having owned a 360 and owning now a 430, I would buy a 430. Not a ton of diffence in price now and a IMHO faster and nice car. I would assume if I were you, that it doesn't make any financial sense. My F430 in 9/07 new (I paid list) was worth about 250. My car now about 130. In 2 years the cars value is cut in half. It's fun it just isn't cheap. :)

430 is more performance and timing chains vs. belts, but then again $130K vs $90K is still a $40K differece, which is a significant difference as a % of cost and in actual dollars (my toy car budget didn't go that high for instance, but I personally prefer the looks of the 360 more so I'm quite happy).

If you have the money and like the looks/performance of the 430, I don't think you can go wrong with either as long as car checks out (PPI, history, etc etc.) they are both awesome cars.
