Looking for some of your thoughts. I currently have an '04 360 coupe and love the car. The problem is that I have two young kids that enjoy driving with me and like sports cars. Obviously, I can't take them out in the Ferrari, so I am looking for a four seater that would be fun. I looked at the new 911 turbo cabriolet on line yesterday, and it looks like a real nice ride. Unfortunately, I think it will take over a year to get one. I called one dealer today.

Is it worth the wait? Any other options you think make sense after driving a 360 for 2 1/2 year?

    Thanks

Depending on how much you are planning on spending have you looked at used:

    612?
    DB9/Vanquish?
    Conti GT?
    M6?

I drove a 997C2S cab for 3yrs. It was a great car, never had a problem loved every minute of it, except both my boys 8 & 10 got to a point where the back seat was useless.

Buy a really cheap "sporty" car and take your kids out in that. They'll never know the difference.

I drove the Conti GT and it just wasn't sporty enough for me. The Aston's are great but I don't think they have 4 seats and the 612 doesn't come in a soft top...The bmw, just not for me

I have an '04 360 coupe and a 997 TT. Get the turbo cab. At first it might seem tame or not exotic enough compared to the 360 but the more you drive it the more you will love it.

Sorry forgot about soft top, sure the DB9 Volante has rear seats though.

I have had many Porsche's ,, Yes they are great cars.

But they just don't cut it (in the exotic world)!! IMO
After you have owned a Ferrari and go into a Porsche
even a Turbo, You are left with a empty feeling, As if something is missing.
where with the Ferrari everything is just complete!!

Don't do it. You will be sorry!!
For what it is worth,, Been there done that!!

    I went from a C4S to a Gallardo to a 997TT. A Porsche was a let down after my G Car, I sold my 997TT.

don't swap out for a 997TT Cab, you wont like it.

BTW, the back seats are usless for any kid over 8 years old, they just dont fit!
    Believe me, I tried!

The DB9 is a 2+2 and an option on the Vanquish.

My father drives a 996tt cabriolet. Honestly, I LOVE driving the car. It's very fast, comfortable, beautiful, and best of all PORSCHE. Want to trade? ;)

If you seriously consider it, then be sure to take a test drive with the kids, maybe with a 996TT Cab, before you put any money down. Those rear seats are not comfortable even if you fit, get a lot of wind and won't work after a certain age. It would be pointless to get a car to drive with them and then they hate the back seats. I didn't get a 911 Cab after I put my daughter in the back seat and she hated it, I finally got a 996 TT Cab years later when I didn't need the back seats.

How about a Maserati GS or QP? Or gowith something older with 4 seats, like a 993 C4S.
The new Porsche is nice but I think the 993 are just as attractive and from what I have read have more sports car feel.

    Not exotic enough??? WTF???

If this is a major hangup for you, then buy a Mustang GT convert for the kids to ride with you & keep the Ferrari...But remember this, a 997tt can be modded to stupidity if you want, and when done correctly, will leave your 360 for dead with the top down and your kids screaming for mercy in the back seat.

As for lack of back seat space, I have crammed 4 women plus me driving into my 930 for a night on the town before...so I can't imagine not having enough room for a couple of children...

    I agree with this post. I had a 2003 360 and now have a 2006 F430F1.

Among other cars some super and some not I have a 1999 Porsche 911 cab. I bought it new. I love the car. it is reliable and is fun to drive. I personally would look at the 911S cab. it is a wonderful car. I go anywhere with it, park it anywhere and just enjoy the experience.

I had a 996 TT Cab. I modified it within an inch of its life and it was a blast. Great with the kids too (but you have to take it a LOT easier).

You can find a used 996 TT Cab at a reasonable price and drive the wheels off of it

Mikey, I just went from a 360 Spider to an F430 F1 Coupe and loving it all the way...there's just no way to make the kids happy in a 4 seat "sports car" although I propose a solution...the wicked fast Cayenne Turbo S - Modified with Tubi Exhaust and ECU conservative 600 hp...can be modded Gemballa style upto 750 hp easily...oh yeah my kids love it. Best of luck, Dave

That is a nice ride...appreciate all the ideas...I may just keep the F 360 and get a 997 S or S4 and not pay up for the Turbo cab...and best of all not long wait...

How about the soon to be released BMW M3 Conv. with the V8. That car will be a screamer with plenty of room in the backseat. In 2001 I had a new M3 conv. and on winding roads the kids would all throw there arms up in the air and scream like they were on a roller coaster. They would all yell MORE TURNS. I use to love it
