04 murcielago 184k

i am looking to trade in my 04 gallardo w/ 4500 miles. it is currently at lambo houston getting an oil change and clearing a CEL. they showed me this car and offered me 184k...doesnt that seem a little low?

Here's a nice 02 for 139K. Compared to that 184K seems high today.

I'm assuming that the 184k price is taking your G in on trade? What are they giving you on the G? That could explain the price. 184k for a 7k mile yellow Murice is a bit high considering that an 06, same color, options and miles, recently sold for less than that figure....two years newer. It's not a "bad" price, but if the price reflects them rolling some negative into the Murcie from the G, then that explains it.

sorry should have been more clear. that is not considering taking in the trade. i have looked on ebay and around other sites and an 04 pearl yellow gallardo egear with around 4500mls would get me about 120-130k? i doubt the dealership would give me that much on trade in value though. the murcie has to be an egear..if anyone can tell me where to find these deals...i would definitely be interested. thanks again for the help. i went to catsexotics but i didnt see any egear murcies in the 170s-180s

 

I can find you something...just give me a call. We get calls daily for cars that are for sale but not advertised so it never hurts to set your criteria and see what's out there. While the 04's are all asking 120-130k, they're selling for much less. You'll always do better selling the G retail than trade in, just depends on where your comfort level is.

However, trading used for used in most states taxes on difference only. Thus, on high end exotics, the difference between dealer trade and private sale/purchase is usually a wash. The trade price and private sale/purchas price usually washes out.
EX: trade 100k for140k and pay tax n 40k
sell 105k for 140k purchase. Sell for more but pay difference on taxes of 140k straight buy.
Depending on your state, the first deal may mean more in your pocket.
