Is it best to leave a parked F1 transmission in 1st or N. Just curious as I usually shut my Stradale idown in 1st but always wonder if it should be in N with emergency brake on lightly .
I have a flat garage floor if that matters.

Cant see it would make a difference. I normally leave my 360 in 1st, only so it doesn't beep annoyingly when I take the key out.
A bit like any manual, best left in gear so it cant roll or be pushed away!
    Clutch is shut anyway?

FWIW, I always leave the F430 parked in 1st gear without engaging parking brake (e-brake). Wouldn't want to clamp e-brake onto hot / warm CCB rotor and forget it.

You might search older threads, but I believe there are failure mechanisms where, if left in gear, the car becomes an immovable object needing on-site mechanical intervention to even get it onto a flatbed truck for transport. FWIW, when parked on level ground, I always parked my CS in N and used the parking brake.

Treat it like a normal manual transmission car. Do you normally leave your car in gear or neutral?

On flat ground it doesn't seam to make any diff, on a hill you leave it in gear.

The owners manual suggest you leave it in either 1st or reverse in case the parking brake doesn't hold & it rolls away.

Interesting.....no real answer yet. I shut the Strad down in first and always apply park brake lightly. The observation pointed out is I am applying to hot CF brakes. I'll check temp next time I return from mountain outting as they should be cool compared to regular 360 rotors . I'm not sure what comparison is to a stick...it's an F1 transmission....can you push start an F1? I don't think so but don't know ....maybe you can...That's where Fchat comes in
