'05 612 TPMS warning light

    My TPMS warning light is on and my mechanic says that the battery in the sensor is out. My options he says are to buy 4 sensors at 175 each or to deactivate the system.
    Hs anyone had this problem, and any recommendations?

    I'm not sure why you can't buy just the one that's bad, but maybe that means he can't tell which??

    Regardless- you can get a whole set on eBay for like $200...

    Had to replace all 4 on my 05 too. They are not meant to last forever...

    Yes, your batteries running down is normal given age of car. Buy the TPMS sensors online. They are HUF and the same kind used by several manufacturers, including Porsche.

    Any decent tire shop can install them for you very inexpensively. Make sure you throw away your old sensors and don't keep them in your car because it will confuse the car's TPMS control unit.

    It is worth the cost to replace in my opinion. And they'll last another 5 years at least.
