Came across this just a few minutes ago -> Following the agreement of the two national sporting authorities, the FASC (Federation of Automobile Sports of the Peoples Republic of China) and JAF (Japan Automobile Federation), and with the approval of the FIA World Motor Sport Council, the dates of the Chinese and Japanese Grands Prix have been swapped. The new dates for the events will be as follows: 1 October, 2006 Grand Prix of China 8 October, 2006 Grand Prix of Japan Carol
I think Suzuka is a better battle ground in case the championship comes down to the wire. It's a fantastic track with a lot of overtaking opportunities. Good to have it at the end of the season again.
Of course the only problem with all of that is--reguardless of what the Chineese and the Japaneese agree to, unless Sir Bernie the Sultan of Sterling gives his epiphanal blessing they can forget it. We shall se about the 15th of next month, I believe that is about when the official program is listed.
Bummer for me! The Chinese GP keeps getting moved up. Mid October to the second week and now to the first of Oct. I have a reason to go to Asia every year around the middle of Oct. Nice tie in with the F1 race there. Now ... who knows??? Major bummer!
