Anybody here have experience with the current model Nissan Altima in the snow? Curious to learn whether it's a liability or no-big-deal. Thinking of replacing my wife's 10 year old Audi A4 (with Quattro) with an Altima Hybrid, but I'm concerned about the FWD vs AWD delta here in the Boston area.

    Any real-world experience appreciated!

    TIA!

I guess it would be ok with all the safety tech, but if you need to tackle more then a couple inches of snow, snow tires are needed.

or you just wait until the fall, when the new B8 A4 is out. No car can beat quattro in the snow. :)

There are some real good deals to be had on the current-gen A4 though.

My mom has an '05 Maxima (kinda close to Altima) and has never had a problem (went out today with it), but if you're going to use it as a true "daily driver" then I'd suggest snow tires.
