Hi all, I just took delivery of my 07 F430 Spider F1...... While the transport driver was backing it off of the truck, the engine stalled multiple times. I thought this may have been caused by it just being cold. Once the car was thoroughly warmed-up, while driving home, the engine stalled again...This time I was in first gear awaiting a turn light... BTW, The car only has delivery miles. Any ideas of cause, or experiences with this? TIA, Joe
Was the battery low or seem week when he restarted it? I have seen this happen when a battery is low. If the car was warmed up at idle that is not enough to charge the battery. How far did you drive and at what rpm before it died on you? Remember this car needs to be pluged into a battery tender when not in use. I had a 430 in my shop the other day and it only took 3 days for the battery to go down.
Also, is it almost out of gas? The rest are correct though: they'll run like crap when they've got a bad battery.
The batteries are perfectly fine in the 430 and they def dont need a charger. I had my 05 430 for 2 yrs and sometimes left it for 2 months when traveling and it always started fine and the same goes for my 07 430... You def have an issue so get to a dealer ASAP. i doubt its your battery.... I believe the gas theory moreso.
My 1st F430 had a similar issue. It was determined to require a slight adjustment of the clutch. The F1 system thought it had disengaged the gearbox, but there was just enough drag to pull the motor down at very low engine RPM's. Quick, very minor adjustment.
