A few weeks ago Dave Wendt contacted me about shooting my Spyder for one of his Exotic Car Calendars and we did a shoot beside an old Paper Mill Factory.

Dave does shoots for many popular Car magazines and has a few calendars of exotics and other cars out there. His collection of shots and stories of his driving experiences is book worthy!

The shot will actually be in a 2009 Calendar (2008 are in print and in stores already). The calendar is sold at Amazon, Borders, Waldens, etc. etc. "Fast, Expensive Exotics"

I thought you guys would like to see it first! This is not the exact shot that will be in there, but will give you a flavor. (I had to shrink down the nearly 100mb file to this size - I hope it looks ok)...

He actually travels world wide to shoot various exotics... If anyone has something that is unique or would like him to consider in his magazine shoots or calendars - I can put you in contact. He is always looking for new and exciting cars to shoot.

He also does a muscle car series calendar as well...

The Gallardo looks great but background looks real corny and really fake.

actually the background is 100% real. We were sitting right in front of the factory.

As per corny - maybe... The photographer wanted a nice contrast of something modern and something that you typically don't see with a exotic car. He told me he is tired of the same old shots in front of the big houses, garages, etc.

I think it is different - something that is unexpected.

Great juxtaposition between old and new. Great lighting!

I was a commercial photographer for 15 years, cars are one of the more difficult subjects to get "right".

That is Grigio Proteous - It is the new color they added in 06 for the G if I am not mistaken.

    superb pic.
not normally keen on that sort of background as it normally takes away from the subject matter, but hes really made it work well there

I love his calendars, and it's great to be able to meet an owner whose car is in it!

I will be buying the 2008 one as soon as I see it, and I will more than likely buy the '09 one now.

Any word on what month you get to be in, either?

The 08's should be out now. My car will be in the 09 (so July of next year is when they will come out...)

I assume it will be in one of the summer months - since it is a convertible and all. But they didn't say when specifically - just that it would be in 09's calendar...
