I just posted in the FChat classifieds for my 08 F430 F1 with 7200 miles for $159,900, but I've had it listed for a couple weeks now elsewhere. I guess the lack of action has me wondering if I've priced it too high.

It seems that the jump from 07 to 08 is decently substantial because of the CCB's, and this is a Rosso Corsa car. Looking to get a little feedback on the price and if I'm high, then what you think it should probably be to be more competitive.

Some silly offers have come in on eBay, like $115, and $130k, but I'll turn it over to the crowd. Thoughts guys?

Just a few months ago I was able to get $155K for my red/tan '07 F430 Coupe. It was moderately optioned (CF rear grill, ball polished wheels, upper CF inside clear bra, skid plates) and 100% stock with all campaigns up-to-spec and, if I can recall, around 5K miles.

I had the car consigned at the local Ferrari dealer... so I actually didn't get the whole $155K, but the car was perfect and sold within a week of my dropping it off.

It doesn't seem like an unreasonable starting price.

No not unreasonable... However a lot of people if they are going to spend on the upper end of the price spectrum they would purchase from a Ferrari dealer because it is CPO and you can work in a warranty. Also if you have a high end car you can trade in and save on taxes if you live in a state like NJ or Florida. But I personally think you are priced rite.

Thanks guys. I'm going to rework my ad a little to make the important things a little easier to find. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something and was completely off the mark with the asking price.

Tax benefits are also there buying from a private party vs. a dealer across states. Here in CA it doesnt help you much as you're paying use tax on any purchase, private or from a dealer, but in other states, you can avoid the tax by buying from a private party.

I have been geeking on 430's for a while while I contemplate what goes in the garage next and as others have said your price seems OK for a starting point. If I was in your shoes and wanted to sell I may have asked the 130K EBayer if he/she wanted to split the difference. I know that when I sell things; if it doesn't sell quickly I am fast to warm up to a 10% hit on what I thought was a good price. Maybe this is relative but in your case there are a lot of 430's for sale and price data should be easy to come by. How does your number compare to the current offering on Cars.com? I would check for you but I am bit slammed today.

The 2008 and 2009 F430 market is hard to gauge in U.S.

For instance, a no-stripe, 2008 Scuderia with 7,200 miles would have a $165,000 fair market price today. On MSRP, the F430 and Scuderia were nearly $100k apart, on the current used market not remotely close to that difference.

I don't think the market price difference between an equal year, mileage, conditions Scuderia and F430 is $5,000, it should be more, but the market is unpredictable.

$160k is a reasonable asking price...you will always get low-ball offers, doesn't mean anything. Someone who values the 08' way above older years will pay the premium...CCB's is the biggest advantage over cars that didn't have the $16k in prior years. good luck with the sale....Just remembers deals will spend anywhere from 1 month to 5 or 6 months selling a Ferrari, you should be prepared for a time frame of the length. Or consign it at your local Fcar dealer if you don't want to deal with the sale itself.

i think 135-140k is fair personally. the fact you have CCBs is awesome though.

As usual, GT has pegged it. As a guy with cash burning up multiple pairs of pants, your car is way too closely priced to a bunch of Scuds with $180k or less asks. While not everyone is in the Scud market, it does work against the late model f430 coupes.

Nice car, I'm sure you will find a buyer.

If you had challenge rims I could see you getting $145 - $150 for the car.

I agree with this. There are a few others around the same price, but maybe you ought to price several K lower to attract buyers looking to save money vs. buying from a dealer.

The fact that it has CCB's is why its worth more than 135-140k.

I recently bought a 2005 almost exactly like your car. I gathered data from the Internet for months from Auto Trader, Car Guru's, E-bay, etc, and built a model by year, miles, color.
Then I looked for and found one I liked at an average market price but highly equipped--like yours. You may be slightly above average price, but your car has $30K in above average options with the CCB (carbon brakes) and all the cool carbon fiber.....

I think if you market it as priced fairly and point out how highly optioned it is, an informed buyer will come! Love the interior by the way--that helped sell me.

Great car you have--hope you can be patient.

people will pay more to get a car from the F dealer vs private sale or non f dealer. This may be logical but its a fact. i would say the delta can be as high as $10k. So it all depends on how fast you want or need to sell the car. Lowering the asking price will certainly speed things along. The risk of waiting too long is market prices dropping futher from depreciate, economic factors, etc.

I took a look at Autotrader.com which is where I like to go to check out the asking prices. I have heard it said that you can expect others to look for 5% off the asking price. So if you are okay with $152,000, you may wish to consider $152,000 but keep it firm. That might generate more interest. Interestingly, there are a high number of Scuds and Spiders and very few coupes on that website. For the coupes that are there, you seem to be on the mark. I think patience is all you need. Spiders, generally, are in the $180's which fits the adage that, "When the top goes down, the price goes up". The population of buyers out there who can plunk down the money a Ferrari costs is not that big so it may take some time.

I did some research on autotrader.com, cars.com, & ebay when I priced it originally and for an 08 coupe it seems to slot in nicely. Out here in southern california, we don't have any snow to melt :)

In any case, I am negotiable in case anyone is looking, but I think its in the realm of fair. I hope anybody potentially interested in an 08 specifically should really read through this thread, there's a lot of great people contributing some valuable information.

That was the point. It appears that the car is slotted equivalent to a dealer asking price for a similar car. To attract buyers away from that you have to give a little.

Before you ask a question, you should ask yourself "Do I really want to know the answer?"
