I have a Bose system and radio in my 08 430 Spider. Sometimes when I first start the car and turn on the radio, the radio powers on and the display panel shows the station, bluetooth connects, etc., but there is no speaker sound. Selecting ipod media makes no difference--- still no speaker sound. Turning the radio off/on has no effect. You have to turn the car off and restart the car. Once you do this and power on the radio again, everything works and you have sound.

The car is in for annual dealer service right now and the above is on the fix-it list, but I'm concerned I might hear an "NTF" response from dealer. Thoughts? Ideas?

Yes mine (08 F430 Spider) did the same thing not long after I got it about a year ago. I believe in my case it thought that it was connected to a hifi or Bose system as some of the menu items were different. But it has not done it since then.

You could ask the dealer if there's a firmware upgrade available.

My 08 did the exact same thing.
I noticed it happens if I turn off the head unit before I shut the car off. So when you are back in start up the car and then turn on you radio there is no sound, as if the amplifier never turned on
I’m not sure if the dealer has a fix for it, but if you keep the head unit on as you turn off the ignition, on next start up you will not encounter this problem.
I have a feeling the Bluetooth sync may be causing this glitch.

My 2007 F430 has a garbage sound system. Some days there is sound and some days not. I have been told to replace the radio but there has to be a better solution. My son who is an audiophile is unable to fix it.

This is censorship to the highest degree.

    Thoughts?

My 08 430 spider did the same thing from new, first time I had it in for service the dealer couldn't find anything wrong with it. Seems to come and go for no reason, but from the number of posts already here I would say there is a defect in this model of radio.

My radio had no sound through the speakers when I took delivery of my '08. I just leave the radio on when I turn off the engine and haven't had any problem. I suggest everyone having this sort of problem to do the same.

Picked up car from Ferrari dealer after annual service. To correct sound problem I described above dealer tech writes, "Updated radio software to 4.0".

We'll see if that does it.

Make sure that the radio is turned off before you shut the car down. Turn the radio on after the car is running. This seems to work.

    Who knows?
