What do you guys think of the price and the car in general? Global Import Cars - 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia - Dallas, Texas
overpriced for mileage. for not much more you can get one sub 10k miles- you may want to get the clutch condition and brake condition checked, they could be expensive if they need changing.
I have not seen any red Scuds with sub 10k miles ever sell for $160-$174k. Best I've heard is maybe $175k.
I have an 08 Scud with 17k miles on it and it is spectacular. Pretty good price, especially if you can roll out for 5k off asking.
I don't know that car. That said it depends on what you plan for it. Garage Queen, obviously a no go. 5-10,000 mi/yr, good deal. If you're going to drive it anyway, a 20K mi, 5 yr old car makes sense. A good PPI is called for no matter the mileage.
High mileage, I don't like the paint on the wheels, I don't like the cloth interior... just not the car for me. I would rather pay a little more and get what I really want!!!
Looks like a nice car. Calipers can be painted , great car for someone who drives 6k plus a year. The delta between this car and a low mile car is 20-25k, thats a lot for someone who plans to add miles anyway.
Its not exactly cloth. Its called Tech Fabric, i have it and its great. Its a matter of personal preference , i dont like leather interiors on Scud.
$159k seems like a great price. How many miles are SCUD owners getting on their clutch if not tracked?
I checked with the sales director, he says it's not an FDE car. Said it was a one owner car enthusiast who just loved to drive the car. A quick check of the carfax reveals 3 owners, but I know these can sometimes be misleading with re-titling and such. I don't mind the mileage as much as the prior use of the car(i.e. tracking ect). If what the sales director told me is true(no FDE/HPDE)and I could pick the scud up for low $150's...suddenly becomes a very interesting prospect for me...especially given the fact the 430's I've been looking at are in the $140's. Having said that, I've never had the pleasure of driving a scud. Plenty of time in the f1 430 however. I've been told the experience is quite different, but I'm not sure what that means exactly? I certainly enjoyed my time in the 430.
Search herein and you will find plenty of discussion of the difference between regular 430 and scud. I find them very different. If it happens to fit your schedule et al, you can drive them back to back at exotics racing or a dealer should allow two test drives. There are 430 owners who do not like the raw scud experience. And vice versa too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm with him...go in hard at $153k.....I would be interested, but I'm one of the whackjobs that wants all leather.
The scud pricing model many of us have been using to estimate a sale price would say this car should sell for around $150k...so a $159k ask is about right to start negotiating... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Depends on one's definition of "not much more" I suppose... A similar car with 5,000 miles would have a selling price of around $170,000 (red, striped 2008 with tech fabric and no US carbon package). This car should be $150,000 sale price roughly. So $20,000 more for 15k fewer miles...that's what makes a market...some buyers would value the lower miles at more than the $20k delta, others would rather have the $20k and deal with the extra mileage. All that said, the car is 5 years old this year an only averaging a paltry 4k miles per year...a 5k car 08 scud has barely been used enough to keep things in shape... Good point... I guess the question is when it comes time to when you want to sell the car, is this one going to be difficult to sell? I suppose it depends on how many miles you put on the car during it's ownership. Let's say you keep it for 2 years and drive it 4-5k miles a year and push it up to 29k miles on it. I still think it won't drop that much lower than its initial $159k....would not expect it to drop lower than $150k.
I think you are right. In fact, F430GT's pricing model says that mileage after the first 10k results in less price depreciation than the first 10k miles...which is a mathematical way of expressing what you are saying...intuitively, a 25k and a 29k car are considered pretty darn similar by the market, whereas a 3k and an 8k car are not...funny thing the way folks think about mileage....I happen to prefer around 2-3k per year usage when I'm looking for a used exotic...just enough to keep seals et al "wet" and to find any problems but not so many as to take substantial high mileage hit. That says I'm down for a 2009 Scud with ~10k miles...hummm...Cam has a beauty at $179k asking...
