WOW, what a day! I got a call this pastSaturday from DeMoise Trk-ing (HIGHLY recommended, BTW!) saying that my new to me GT4 would be arriving on Monday between 3 and 4 pm if all went according to schedule. I spoke to Gloria, who was 1/2 of the husband/wife team that transported the Dino. She filled me in on all the details including where they were stopping before me and how long they anticipated it would take from there to Indiana. I asked her to give me a call when she thought they were about an hour out, that way I could be home to meet them. Well the day went on, and on, and on and it got to be around 3pm. I figured that they were delayed in Illinois and it would be evening before they would get to me. Right about that time she called saying that they were at SR5, which is only 25min from me.....I WAS 45MIN AWAY!!!! CRAP! I got the 'ol minivan haulin' some serious a** and got to the house less than 10 minutes after they arrived. I had put a call into the babysitter and asked her to get out the camera and snap some pics. So I came around the corner and there was a huge white semi parked at the end of our cul-de-sac...gate down and nothing on it. My daughters and their friends are screaming their heads off at me telling me that my car is in the truck. I parked the van on the street just in time to see the Dino backing out very slowly onto the ramp. What a sight!!!! I had a definite case of PermaGrin! The car is lowered down from the upper level of the truck and the kids all surround it looking inside and out, saying C O O L, AWESOME, WOW!!!! I sign off on the transport and quickly figure out how many little girls can squeeze in the GT4 at once. Well, if my 7yr. old straddles the backseat hump, then we can get 3 in the back and 1 up front. 1st (mini) drive: We didn't go far, just down the street, a quick left and down about 1000yds or so and back, 3 times!. I did wind up 2nd gear a little, much to the delight and screams of 4 little cutie-pies. They were digging it as much as I was. If only the license branch were open today! I really want to exercize this little Italian beauty since she's been all couped up in a trailer for 2000 miles. Oh well, maybe Thursday or Friday. Anyway, one by one the neighbors got home from work and one by one they came over. So far, I've given 5 rides around the neighborhood all the way up to 35mph... Not bad for just getting the car. I'm so damn excited!!! I'll have a full 1st drive report coming. Thought you guys might enjoy a long winded story about my GT4 arriving to its new home. I tried FOREVER to get those photos on the website. How did you do that? Feel free to put whichever ones you want from the slideshow up there. I can't figure it out!!! JIM
No, Andrew Conti bought the Florida car. He should be posting a 1st drive real soon with pics. That is one nice car as well!!!! Thanks to all who have replied so far. I've had an enormous amount of fun the past couple months leading up to this and I haven't even driven the car more than 2 miles yet!!!!
Scroll down a bit when you post. There's a 'Manage attachments' button that lets you browse/upload pics.
The one in the middle back seat is mine. (Her sister is to her left, though you can't see her). The other two are two of 11 girls in our cul-de-sac! It's an awful lot of fun walking them to school. (11 girls and 2 boys) We have a great neighborhood! We are truly blessed. JIM
I kept getting messages saying that "Upload Failed" I figured the pics were too big, so I threw them up on the Kodak site... JIM
Congrats, I should be getting my first 308 in May... Can't wait either. What transport company did you use. Thanks, Steve
Congratulations! First Ferrari is quite a thrill that I also was fortunate to enjoy last November. Enjoy and be safe! Jeff
Congrats in advance!! I used DeMoise Trk-ing. (864-609-9390) or Demosie.com I got them on a recommendation and I HIGHLY recommend them as well! They were great and they came in at the lowest quote, which was a bonus. JIM
Excellent! I just emailed with the guy who referred them to me. I hope that you have good luck with them, Its always a little nerve racking when you make a suggestion like this. You always want it to turn out good! JIM
Thanks! Yours is too. I'm looking at the wheel/tire thing soon. Debating wether I want to sell either set of 14" wheels that I have with the car or keep them....?
