I saw an FXX on the road half way between Modena and Maranello during the 60th anniversary: older bald guy at the wheel. Unless someone went through a LOT of effort to carry out the cosmetic FXX'ing of an Enzo it was what I saw!
I have seen pics of an FXX roaming around Maranello, probably going from Fiorano to the Factory..but there is this Enzo that got FXX'd http://www.flickr.com/photos/eporedia/513737659/in/set-1538360/
Can anyone confirm that 0850 was owned between Dino Martin and Paul P. by the Lindner family in Cincinnati. I was told years ago that the car was there in the 1970s (which would make the current owner its 'return' to Cincinnati). I'm not saying that's the complete ownership chain- just that it was there with the Lindner's at that time. Thanks.
Ahem. You might want to try reading back through this earlier 10-page thread on #0850: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=176081 (or using the search option, before starting a new thread).
There's 3 nice close-up photos of #0850 taken at Coy's Historic Festival, Silverstone in 1998, by Jean-Claude Chesnel, on Flickr. See this search result on the P4/412P group pool: http://www.flickr.com/search/groups/?q=0850&w=1010107%40N21&m=pool
This has been a superb thread, pictures have been incredible and the first hand accounts have made for great reading. I have always been fascinated by the P car as I call them, to me they represent some of the most beautiful racing cars ever made.
http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=138488400&postcount=192 There's some good stuff in this new thread too, and a couple of new questions. While they're both still current, may I suggest that a mod merge this with the pre-existing '0850' thread. Thanks.
I remember getting a very good look at Dean Paul Martin's car when it was in the body shop. I also enjoyed the astounding sight of him driving the car on the streets of Hollywood. Great memories both!
Thanks very much for the answer (despite the fact that I goofed and used a period instead of a question mark). Best, Dave
You'll have wait until I die for the value to go up. Those posters have gone for much more. Well bought. CQ
That was the seller's opening bid price. I guess he was hoping for a few more bids - but nobody else did, besides me - so I got lucky. By the way, is that your signature on the print, Chuck ? I can't remember exactly what the auction listing said now - it's a while ago. See: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137287588&postcount=143
That entailed running the coolant under the car, as oppose to through the frame. First thing that was junked to get the car back to stock.
Motor Trend just did an archive story of 0850. Just thought I'd bump this thread. BTW, they only call it a P3. But I wont go there.
Is there somebody who has news from Paul Skett (P4Replica)? He didn't post anything since a long time and he doesn't answer the e-mails. Thank you.
