The new panel is exactly like the original panel was but you can see from the texture of the metal that it is new and it is also missing the two small holes where the bottom of the belt would have been affixed. We were able to save/use the majority of 0854's original body but had to remake a few small sections such as the carb hump/roof top/rear window surround and that exhaust panel. Hope U R Well!
Looking like a very nice project. I can see restoration is something they are doing to the roads around Rye as well. Jim, curious looking at the wonderful carbon work on P4/5. All customization with carbon fiber has to be done at the factory? Or can it be manufactured and shipped to a dealership for installation? _J
Yes the windshield mounts in a frame that unbolts so it can easily be removed for access. Pretty cool design. P 4/5 Carbon fiber is all in CAD mathematics so it's easy to manufacture and install. I have many spare panels of everything so that's not an issue. Best
I mean when (Poor english from a poor english man fuel today just payed $14.00 a gallon £7.00 a gallon of diesel thinking of selling a kidney or may PX for some petrol
We still have a ways to go. As soon as body fitting is done we're going to do a complete tear down, cleaning, inspection, build up, painting. Realistically late next spring.
If you want to do it right you really have no choice. 41 years takes a toll and undoing that toll gently takes time. When we're finished I think she will be good for the next 41.
I understand the time needed. Its your ability to deal with it that I admire. The fact that one has no other choice is not always sufficient reason for some. I guess it helps to have other distractions.
I'm learning this ... I've lost count how many times I have removed and reinstalled headlight buckets (inparticular as I remade the surrounding metal), indicators and grill on my 1750 GTV ... ofcourse having to be very careful that I do not break the little plastic plugs. Going quite nutty. Sometimes wonder if I will ever have all the little details done, list seems never ending ... turn around and you find something else :sigh: Pete
