And my 1/64 world is smaller still...........here my Hotwheels version of 0846 in progress, with a Bellini 1/87 P4 kit and a 1/43 Bang model of 0854, and at the back a P4 which came free with Shell petrol a few years back, 1/38 scale: http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/6521/p4scomparesn8.jpg Paul M
This is a fantastic thread that just keeps getting better! Thanks to you, Jim, and all the others who have posted here with very interesting history tidbits and pictures
hi jim, hope all is well 0854 looks great in the nude! btw, what's the frame on its left? (sorry if this is a noob question)
She's looking good, maybe be a runner soon? 0854 has been to the Goodwood Festival twice before with a previous owner; it would be SOOOOO cool to see her there in bare metal this year......... Paul M
Hi Jim, I hope you don't mind answering, but I'm just wondering what kind of fuel does 0854 or 0846 use in a daily basis? Can you fill it up at an ordinary, local gas station?
She's really coming. Interestingly I had a nice chat with Dick Attwood at Goodwood who was very excited to hear that she was being brought back with her original coupe Brands Hatch body. He told me several stories and felt that if he hadn't run the fuel out of the Carbs at the start of SPA as he was pointed downhill and the pumps ran dry they could have won. He really looks forward to driving her when we're done and many asked me to bring her back to the UK at some point which I'll do. I should have some more photo's soon. I also have to thank Paul (R33) for a fantastic 1967 Brands Hatch Brochure he kindly gave me at Goodwood.
Great Video from Staffan Berggren! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1393168345775539215&q=BOAC+1967&total=1&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0
Thanks Jim. Was this the end of the beginning, or the beginning of the end? Notice that there is not a computer in sight and innovation was everywhere. Computers were at Los Alamos.....Malcolm
This was the end. The last race of 67 where Ferrari won the championship. Pretty cool transporter they used for 0854... Best
I liked the short clip of the guy actually putting the BOAC sticker on your car. .. . and the hand-painting of the number 8.
amazing piece of footage. Even back than the Ferrari´s were by far the most beautiful cars on the grid. I mean, that Chapparal, come on
Jim, you're on L-Power? http://www.**********.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23165 Or did you sell the car?
