Looks great. After its done, I hope you get bored and decide to sell :-)
Going well, thanks for asking. Updates: -Working on the final stages of the carbon brake kit, I have full specs on the front and rear with all prototype brackets and rotor hats, now waiting on production to replicate what its done. I would probably get all parts anodize on black when is all finish. -Got the steering wheel back, it was reshape, re-padded and reupholster on black, red alcantara and perforated leather. -I have decided to work on some aero parts to get the car track ready, a rear carbon wing, front air splitter and some canards; likely to seek GT4 specifications. Some of you may hate this modifications. I have just made a mold out of cardboard for the front carbon air splitter. I may still cut some off as it may be a little too aggressive to drive on the street. This is the final mold, I've decided to run fins at the end of the splitter "a la F12 tdf"; I know that it's far from it. I know you didn't ask for opinions, but I absolutely love everything except the rear spoiler and front splitter. If you must do the splitter, I'd suggest pulling it in at least 2"
I appreciate the feedback, on the front splitter is it because of it's aggressiveness or just difficult to daily drive?
Amazing and interesting project! I daily drive a 2012 GT MC (US version). I'm sure its like most GT's. The front end is LOW and LONG. last thing I'd want is a bigger lower front spoiler to hit a curb or cement parking barrier with! but it will look cool!
I guess it really depend what we all call daily driving. I live 1.5 miles from my office, don't get to drive on a highway often, mostly small city downtown driving. I daily drive just about every car I own; mostly exotics among Murcielago LP640, Challenge Stradale and 360 Challenge. Maybe the GT-S with a crazy looking front splitter would be over the top; we'll see.
Based on everyone's feedback I trimmed the splitter a bit, I painted the cardboard black for a better illusion. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have added front air ducts utilizing the OEM bumper unused grills, I placed two NACA ducts and cover the remaining part of the opening on carbon fiber. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
These are the rear brake ducts, also using NACA type collectors. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
These would be the Big Brake kit available for reproduction: -Front and rear carbon rotors 394 mm and 380 mm -Front and rear calipers custom painted in any color (Rosso Scuderia on the picture) -Custom front and rear rotor hats -Custom front and rear caliper brackets -Front and rear caliper bolts -Front and rear steel braided lines Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great job and very imaginative - I think you made the right decision to cut the front splitter back some - don't want to be really limited on where you can drive
I am just about finish with the interior, I am just missing some Maserati shields on the seats... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Finally got the wheels from Ben at Wheels Boutique in Miami. HRE P101 all custom engineer and cut for the car. front: 10" x 19" - 22 lbs with Pirelli PZERO Corsa 285/35/19 rear: 12" x 20" - 25.5 lbs. with Pirelli PZERO Corsa 335/30/20 I went to HRE as it was difficult to fit the 394 mm brakes into a 19" wheel on a monoblock; I am very please with the results. She down from the stands ready to brake some pavement, I am so happy to have her running! The front splitter should arrive in a few days, also I have added some magnetic numbers for a classic look on track days...
