    Finally I was able to put the finishing touches on this curbside model from CMM. It took a lot of kit bashing to complete this car as it was either lacking stuff or some of it was simply wrong.
    The wheels were horrible, as was the front and rear wings. Luckily I found a 1/12 RC model of the same car, which had exact wheels, but silly tires. So with the help of a friend who is a machinist and has a lathe, we were able to mate the CMM tires with the RC car wheels.

    The front wing came as one complete unit from Amalgam. While I hated to glue on somebody else's work, the original parts were useless and the RC car also had a sub par front wing. Its rear wing was good enough however to serve for a makeover: One of the pictures shows the original RC car rear wing before it was repainted. Its shape was mostly ok, it just needed a more accurate paint job and new decals.

    The cockpit also needed additional and better parts, which I was able to "steal" elsewhere. I made a resin copy of a MG 2010 car's steering wheel. Not perfect but better than what the kit came with. I made my own decals for the cockpit.

    None of the kits decals were used as they were not really decals. I found most of them on ebay or from Patzos (who made the really great Pirelli decals).

    The Massa figure was originally an Alonso figure, which I bought ready made but then changed towards Felipe.

    Looks great! The end result justifies the effort. Well done and thanks for sharing.

    That unfinished steering wheel looks like a pastry.

    One day I will be able to afford a scanner and 3d printer and no longer do this old school with resin kits. :)
