I purchased this car from Mario Aquati of the Libreria dell'Autodromo in Monza. I know very little about the model other than that it is beautifully manufactured by MG from Firenze out of 100 pieces made. I would greatly appreciate any information people may have about this model (Did it originally come with any kind of certificate, who is MG Firenze, when was it made, what did it sell for at the time, what is it worth now, etc.). Anyone else out there who owns one?

    Great Find!!
These are 1:14 handbuilt scale models.
Between 1985 and 1995 1:14 was a popular scale for large handbuilts.
Brianza, MG Firenze and a few others made these kind of models.
From 1995 and onwards, all the makers changed to 1:12.

MG Firenze, is now known as MG model Plus.

I have 4 other similar 1:14 F1 cars in my collection.
These models were "completely" handmade around 1992 in small limited editions.
No certificate, just a numbered base, and on the bottom is a number written.
It came with a plexiglass-case which fitted over the top of the base, and a "shoebox" sized box.

Price was 700 euro's when new (converted from 1500 dutch guilders).
Today.. it depends. Valueing it is difficult.
Most collectors prefer other scales or newer models which are more detailed.
I think you shouldn't compare these "true" Handbuilts with computer-generated newer cars.

These are enthousiast items and pretty rare!
Especially these F1's are quite fragile, and a lot of them got damnaged in transport or mail.
Prices range from 100 to 1000 euro's depending on the subject.. I paid 150 for the same car (mansell). Mainly because I knew the seller, and he knew it would go into my collection.
I got another by exchanging a built(by me) 1:12 modell.
