Well....I got a 1:12 GTO "interior transkit" from scale details. The transaction went flawless! It arrived well faster than I thought possible and I was grinning from ear to ear in the post office. Then I got home and opened the package....
Quite disappointed.I don't understand what exactly I paid $40+ for.
In the kit I got:two sheets of aluminum (probably $1.50 in any craft store), 1 piece of blue cloth which may look in scale on a 1:3 scale model's seat;1 piece of leather which is different color than in the pictures on "scale details" website and larger grain than the one used on the real cars. Also received 2" of tubing(I believe they come 3 10" tubes in a pack for something like $2.50 in any hobby shop);3 different wires that I have no clue what are they for, since they are not really mentioned in the instructions or shown how to be used or applied on any of the pictures (yes there is a cd included in the package which supposedly shows you the real cars and how to build your model, but is a joke). Also in the transkit there is all sorts of "details that will turn your models into museum piece".They include a foot and a half long piece of black ribbon($1.50 for ten feet in pretty much any general store) which with some imagination may be used in a 1:8 model;bunch of small pins that I have no idea what are they supposed to be used for and also 1 large pin to be bent and painted silver to replicate the shifter. There is more-PHOTO-ETCHED parts
(really the reason why I wanted the kit) !BUT!!!They consist of wrenches(?),
a cavallino rampante(?)a ferrari script which would be at home on a Pocher Testarossa (1:8) and something that is supposed to be used for the belts that looks similar to a four point harness that is buckled up but with a huge round whole in the middle.I forgot to mention that there is also "template" sheet with hand drawn shapes(most unmarked) which during "the expensive photocopy precess" cut off one side of the "templates".
I am really not trying to trash Scale Details but this "transkit" is useless. The main reason I am saying this is because the amount of effort and experience needed to make anything dissent out of it.If you have that much talent you can achieve better results with half the amount of money.

I have to reply, sorry............It takes about an hour to package this transkit you received for under $40, hence I saved you a 2 hour trip to your so called "craft" store. The materials alone total just under $25 as far as my costs for all, add the 12 hours I spent drawing all the templates for you, and the 50+ ideas and tips given in the instructions, not to forget the CD which was designed by a master modeller in Italy. Clearly, you have no sense of value or you are an absolute novice at modelling and don't know what to do with what's in front of you. I have sold thousands of transkits to 46 countries without a single complaint, and I would have gladly taken the transkit back in good faith, but instead you decide to post in worldwide and make my company look like Walmart, I don't know how else to thank you.

Ok,I would like to sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding which obviously occurred.I had no intentions of making your "company look like Wallmart".But since you replied I would love to discuss yours as well as my points.
First off I am two times national champion in US for building models in 1:24 scale and I have 1:24 ferraris that will make your 1:12 with all your transkits look laughable. However I don't feel like starting a pissing match with you.
What I tried to say (OK maybe I went a little overboard with the sarcasm) is that in order to use what is in your kit you need lots of experience, talent and skill well above the average novice.
Also the pictures(both on your website and on the CD) show different belts than what you provide in your kit. That makes the Ferrari script pretty much the only useful photo etched part in the kit.And everything else you can find around your household more or less.
Your template sheet is a photocopy which maybe cost you 12 hours to make
years ago(and if that is the time it took you then maybe you were a novice at the time).
Anyway. My point is this:If somebody has the skill, the will and experience to make use out of your interior transkit then they already have made enough research to make the CD you provide useless since you can gather more numerous and more detailed pictures with way more info from both "ferrarichat" and "***************".
Then again if you have the experience, skill and tools necessary to use the materials you provide(simulate rivets with rolling punch, just as an example)then you should have this materials in your tool box.Not to mention that using "bare metal foil" would be way easier and more forgiving.Either way
both methods are pretty useless since the original cars that had bare interiors
were painted inside as shown on the pictures YOU provide on YOUR cd.Also
in your instructions it is said to paint the seats flat black, yet in the pictures on YOUR cd it is clearly seen that they are silver color. Also the blue material provided would look completely out of scale. You could buy a blue T-shirt to cut up which would be thinner(therefore easier to manipulate), more in scale and enough for a lifetime of seat covering supply.
Anyway, when I compare your transkit to what you get from a companies like "detail master","accustion","studio 27"etc I really don't see the value.(yes I know what scale they work in)
I am not writing all this to trash your company or to hurt your business, but simply to share my humble opinion. I believe the goal of this chat is to inform each other and share our experiences. Some people will find value in your product and others will not.Either way I believe they all deserve to know what are they getting for their money.IMHO it is nothing that they can not get from their supermarket.
OH and by the way I timed myself and with good masking tape and sharp
exacto knife it took me ALMOST an hour to make new templates.
HOW MANY COPIES CAN YOU MAKE FOR ELEVEN HOURS!!!!!!???????

i was very very enjoy with the material quality, is very nice as comparaison

a master piece in my little museum it s the 250 GTO.
is not a CMC, not A kyosho or Tamiya it s a bad revell transformed like

Guys I don't know how to say this again. I have had no problem with dealing with Stephane.I have the aluminum wheels with the photoetched centers from him and they are fantastic, great value for the money.I have used the AMG transkit he sales and it is fantastic. The turned aluminum exhaust, brake discs and engine upgrade parts package is also great.Like I posted the first time I enjoyed a flawless transaction when I received the interior kit. But, after all the great product before, it was a great disappointment.I just found no reason for it since any experienced modeler could have produce it with no effort from materials on his workbench and from around the household. That is all.
Agian, I am NOT trying to put him down. Just sharing my experience and oppinion.I would highly reccomend doing business with "scale details",just can not vouch for the interior transkit.
To back up my point, just check out what "modelcar garrage" offers for lets say '32 Ford for $12;A two piece grill, steering wheel center, choice of two dash faces with choice of two different gage faces(which can be painted in endless combination of colors),emblems for the front and rear, pedals, vents, stoplights,a personalized licence plate, custom scripts and more, with nice and clear instructions. And it is all in 1:24 scale photoetch(much harder to do than 1:12)THIS my friends is a detail kit with VALUE.

    Michael,

I think you should have read the description and look at the photo of what you were getting. The interior transkit is just that, an interior kit, maybe you should have purchased the AMG transkit at $80 which is the photoetch kit you are looking for, and not the $40 for the interior materials (a cotton T-shirt would not work by the way).
Either way, I offer a 100% money back guarantee with all my products, and I woud rather spend the time drive my Ferraris than spend my time debating over the value of a $40 transkit which could have simply been returned if not satisfied.
Another quick point, not all GTO's had painted interior floors, I personally sat in one in Italy that was bare aluminum, hence my idea for the transkit design and templates.

Christian, thank you for your support, I really appreciate your comments, specially from someone with veteran experience on Fchat.
