Just announced for Spring 2018 release.
Top Marques 1:12 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, with engine detail. Pic is of prototype model in progress. Too early to say what is right and what is wrong, but this will probably be a good (cheap) alternative to the very detailed 1:12 kit by MFH, as well as cost to build, or a 1:8 Amalgam model.

Looks nice, hope they will do some variations. Only engine details are welcome.

Disappointing to see the engine exhaust molded into the chassis: is the single exhaust on just one side correct?

David, all 250 TR's had quad pipes - 2 per side, 4 in total. As I mentioned in my initial posting....."Pic is of prototype model in progress." Which means it is incomplete in the photo since it is a work in progress.

I agree with you about the molded in exhaust headers in the engine bay. Detail so far looks basic, and corner cutting, but I'll wait to see at least a finished hand sample before I pass judgement. I am hoping that they go further with detail, but I do doubt that they will. Nonetheless, maybe, just maybe we'll get an overall good large scale model at an artificially low price due to being manufactured in China.

Well the price is about the best thing with this one. Shape is ok, but not great, and looks off when viewing side profile, and nose looks bad as well. Interior is especially weak - toy like. 1:18 models have better interiors, and so do some 1:43rds! From a historic standpoint, this model also has various mistakes - inaccuracies. This is all from just a 2 minute look over. If I spent more time with it I would have a long list.

GT Spirit should stay with what they know best....modern sports and supercars, and tuner Porsche's. Not historic models, let alone cars like the 250 GTO. They did a surprisingly good job with both their Aston Martin DB5, and Jaguar E Type, but their previous 365 GTB/4 Daytona coupe was a lousy model, and now their GTO is even worse. Maybe this is due in part to their business design of low (cheap) prices and fairly high volume production.

It is just overall a so-so model, offering less detail than that of many smaller scale GTO models, but for buyers who want a big and cheap 250 GTO model I guess this one will float their boat, but definitely not mine.

I agree Marshall. The GTO body looks ok, but everything else is very simple thus the low price. The XKE also had a nice body but was simple. I think they really messed up the Daytona. The front of the roof is really low around the windshield and the hood line to long and straight. For the price GT Spirit is ok, but I would rather spend more and get a good product. That said, the Hiro 250 GTO series I body also has a few problems, especially around the rear wheel wells.

The BBR Ferrari 340/375 1/12th Pan Am car is supposed to be released soon. That one looks pretty good, but the wires are not that great looking.

Tom, I'm with you.....I would rather spend more to get a good or great quality model. I buy and collect quality, and the GT Spirit Daytona and GTO are sub standard. I also have the Hiro 250 GTO kits, '62 and '64 cars. Even with their issues, I still think they are light years ahead of most of the various cranked out 1:12 curbside models we are seeing these days. I agree that the BBR 1:12th 340/375 looks pretty good. Yes the wheels could be better, and the interior is a little weak....could and should be better. Nonetheless, it is a much better value than the GT Spirit Ferrari's.

Here's a photo of the GP Replicas 1:12 330 P4 hand sample..... Hope it is good, looks promising, and it will probably be ridiculously good value for the price. I am planning to buy one.

Yes, but only in photos, and the rivet detail was heavy.....more suited to the larger 1:12th model. Not sure if they captured the crease on the tops of the front fenders on their 1:18 either. Also, their 1:18, and all the others in that scale were never ones I wanted to put into my collection. They just did not appeal to me strongly enough. I think that for the price, there is also more value in the larger model.

Ultimately I would prefer the highly detailed Model Factory Hiro P4, but I would have to build it, or find a good builder to do the build since it only comes as a kit. Either way on that one, I don't want it enough to spend the time or the money, so this new GP Replicas model might fit in well for me.

incredibly how someone of your skill isn't motivated enough to build your own kits, lololo, i know, you probably lack the time. I have the 1/18 GMP daytona winner, and apart from the ride height i like it very much..i also got it at a very good price!

Overall looks very good....except that the body work for the rear wheel openings is completely wrong.....it is not how this car was when it raced at/won Le Mans in '68. Fine for how the restored car has often been shown, but not completely accurate as the '68 LM winner. Overall the CMR piece is a more accurate model than the old GMP model of the '69 version.
