Wasn't sure if they made it in black but seems they did.

Don't think I've ever seen one before.

I still have the original White Box stored away as I came across that a few months back. Not sure about the reissue one tho

That looks terrible; headlamp covers are all wrong , looks like a Meng plastic model or GMP diecast copy, at least the dayglo indentifer looks to be the correct color.

    The 917 is a beast.

By the way... Many thanks to F1tommy for his many posts on the latest model releases.

No problem. Thank you for all the photos you have posted over the years including the Pan Am photos. By the way I understand someone is working on a book about all the Pan Am 1952-1954 Porsche cars run in the historic race. Will update when it is available.

Definitely a fantastic model - but finding one that is 100% complete and undamaged is quite difficult. I was fortunate (albeit on my second attempt) to find one that still had every emblem and body clip and even had the original display case and all the original boxes. If buying on Ebay make sure to ask the seller for detailed photos.

Same AAR 917 rented by the Martini team first in purple and then in this color. I think they used artist acrylic paint on the purple car as it started coming off really fast and only lasted a few races.
This car came in a distant second way back to the SEFAC 512M in Kyalami 1970. That was the only major 512M factory victory as Ferrari went all 312PB in 1971.
