IXO getting into non subscription 1/12th models with the help of a German company. First car is a short tail 1983 956.

    WERK83
Werk83 is a German range of diecast models manufactured by Ixo. The main scale is 1:18 but larger models are also planned, in the 1:12 scale which is enjoying increasing popularity. Werk83 specializes in racing cars, mainly from the 70s and 80s, with Group 5, Group 6, Group C cars and also single-seaters. The Werk83 models have no opening parts and are generally well made. The quality-price ratio is very good.

I think I will shorten the frame like I did on my stradale to lower the front hood.
Plexi headlights are just horrible and need to be replaced. Or you can hide its with a yellow sticker with the good shape, like on 88520...
Another work is to shorten the spoiler which is too big !

I think the hardest thing to correct will be fuel fillers. The fact that this model will be around $800.00 is a joke. If it was done correctly that price would be justified. I am not a fan of Kyosho 1/12th models as most have issues with accuracy.

There are no problems with fuel fillers : there are on the right side oh the car and one stradale fuel trap on the left, like all the early F40 LM...

Well, that is good to know. I could not tell from my photos. Maybe worth the purchase, but plan on modification of the nose spoiler and lower the nose.

Well, it is out, finally. Not sure if I will buy one or not. I already converted a regular Kyosho F40 to an LM. Even printed the wheels and tires, and mine are better. Kyosho did something wrong with lights and as already noted the bottom section of the nose is wrong and sticks out to much.

Maybe I will do another car. I did decals for the ART Sports Ferrari France IMSA F40LM already. Ferrari Club of Italy car is also beautiful, but more decals and wheels to do.

As expected, nose is completely wrong.
A lot of work to improve it.
Really impatient to see the result of your conversion ! ;)

Well, I have to finish my 1/12th Interscope Daytona first. It is almost done, and I will post photos. Based on the GT Spirit Daytona if you can believe that. I do not like the Hiro Daytona kit very good, and the Interscope series 3 car has very different flares than the early cars Hiro did, not as squared.

I finally received mine which I paid 500€ (that was the price in 2022 and Carmodel was apid in full back then , so they didn't charge the difference!)

    So here are the mistakes:
    - front hood has several mistakes, first it should be wider than street F40, something very subtle but you can see it clearly in the F40 LM book
    - front head light are wrong, not wide enough should reach the side of the fender
    - front spoiler twice too long...
    - there photo etched grills which are not present on LM cars
    - there should 2 other ducts for the brakes (visible when the grill is not present)
    - rear wing is nice but it lacks the additional perpendicular aluminium part
    - heat exchangers are wider on the LM cars
    - right radiator is also larger than street F40

it's a lot of mistakes for a model that was preseneted more than 5 year ago!

I will use it to make a correct LM version, probably using the chassis and finishing the work I started on the hood of the street version
