By the way, the KK 1/12th Dino 246 is much better than the Top Marques in shape.
KK posted a few more photos of the GTO 1/12th scale. I think the tires look pretty good, but I will replace the wheels. The front and rear view looks better than many of the 1/12th GTO's I have seen. The Hiro body has a lot of problems, and I bought the kit many years ago. It does have an excellent chassis. This KK model might be the replacement body!! Also announced a KK 1/12th EB110, I did do a conversion kit 20 years ago in 1/24th scale for this car to do the 1994 Lemans car. Maybe I will have to convert one and upsize the artwork. I saw one race at Daytona in 1996. I will bet the KK models shape is more accurate than the Top Marques model!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've looked at numerous images of the KK GTO and I don't like it. I think body shape as far too many problems all around. Granted that the Hiro body also has problems, but I still like it much better.
You right on the KK not being perfect, but the Hiro is worse. The straight on view of the Hiro shows its biggest problem, the roof is not square enough.
Easy picture to see it best is in the Ferrari GTO book by Keith Bluemel first pages, a front on bare metal body shot. The KK looks much closer in the photos. But it has other problem's.
By the way, I learned from my own mistakes about roofs. I messed up on my first 1/24th resin kit the Viper GTS-R really bad. Now I watch that and concave flares carefully, a big mistake resin model companies make, and so did I until I noticed it. I am not saying there are not a lot of mistakes on the KK, but that Hiro mistake is hard to fix.
Tecnomodel 1/12th 1970 Lemans 512 longtail. Something strange about it, I think the nose is too long and the wheelbase too short?? It looks like a fat 512. Image Unavailable, Please Login
the back does look short, i have the 1/18 version and it looks longer, this one should be identical, must be the picture angle.
I think there are most likely a number of problems with it, which is unfortunately typical of Tecnomodel.
You are right about that and there are several errors in this model. So in the meantime I have sold my model again.
Werks83, part of the IXO network is making this 1/12th 1998 Porsche 911 GT Lemans winner. Price under $200.00 US. MiniChamps, Kyosho and other diecast makers might want to rethink how much they over charge for their models or they may not be around much longer. These are actually better quality than MiniChamps. The Laudoracing 1/12th Alfa Romeo T33/2 Stradale prototype is out. Very nice overall, but they did it as it is now displayed in the Alfa Romeo Museum. I would much prefer they do cars as they were when new and original. It has gold wheels and a sticker on the nose+plate on the rear for the museum. Other details are not original, as it is now. Correct 13 inch T33 Campi wheels and very nice cockpit window details. They used the same method for the glass as Automodelli did on the ISO Grifo model in 1/24th scale that also just came out. Very good price for a very good 1/12th model. This is the first 1/12th model for Laudoracing, and I hope they do many more. Much more accurate than the previous T33/2 Stradale regular production model by Premium Clasixxs mainly due to the wrong size wheels on the Premium Clasixxs model. They put 15 inch wheels instead of 13 inch. Otherwise, I liked that model also but that was a big mistake!!
BBR 1/12th model. The more I see of this car the less I like it. I love the SP1 and SP2 but not this so much. Image Unavailable, Please Login
