they are good, the prices reflect that, and newer, i've always built & added to the tamiya enthusiast series, but those are older molds now, and some flaws are noticible, fujimi are ok, depends on the specific model chosen, the fujimi wheels and tires arent as good IMO

Most of the kits in my build list are of cars I've owned, or a relative, & not as many options as far as manufacturers. The others are odd, like the 1/20 Marzal. Mostly I have a bunch of these 1/12 Countach kits...enough to keep me plenty busy for a few years! This particular one I'm building now tho is one I've wanted to do since I first saw a photo of a rame colorado Countach about 20 years ago!

I can remember seeing the ads for the Testor's version in car mags & wanting it. I finally got ahold of one years later from a discount catalog, but missing 1/2 the instructions! I was too intimidated by all the parts to start it, plus I wasn't building models at the time. Held onto it for years until I found another on eBay. Having a second one eased my nerves in case I messed it up, lol...found it wasn't too bad to build, but it sure is time consuming! I've also got a few 1/18 die cast. Was hoping to get the cannonball countach, but never seen one for sale...

I was impressed with the one 1/24 fujimi kit I have just looking at the parts...

Paint arrived today from APS Tower paints. This will be my first time using 2K clear so wish me luck! Other than that I've been working on small details like polishing the windows so they are clear as glass, making new exhaust tips from polished aluminum tubing & prepping body parts. It's coming along...

I'm building one of these just on a bigger scale. lol

You have some patience to be doing this.

The paint job alone would have driven me nuts.

Shot the clear coat tonight & it looks really nice. I'm pretty impressed so far. I used "glamour" high gloss 2K clear...I don't think I've ever used a spray can that went on so smooth. With a little experience this could be be layed on like glass :) Goes on a bit heavy for use on a scale model, but luckily this one is fairly large.

I'm no Countach expert but it looks to my eyes as if the wheel arches are not production LP400S but the Walter Wolf style. The front arches are clearly rounded not flat topped. It also has the periscopa roof - ie a converted LP400 not an LP400S.
