Hello from Germany, considering the fact, that there's lack of really good models of the 308 GTB, this looks promising: Text only in french, but precommandé, means just pre-order yet. http://club-ottomobile.com/en/february/147-ferrari-308-gtb-groupe-b.html Best Regards from Germany Martin
Very nice. I have a few models made by Ottomobile. They are sealed resin and the shape and details are good, as is the finish. The only gripe I have is that they often seem a bit too large for 1/18 scale. For example my Ford RS200 looks huge compared to other rally cars like the Audi Quattro. I also sold the BMW M3 for that reason. If the size of this 308 is fine, I will definitely buy it. My long term project of converting a Hot Wheels 308 will have an abrupt end
Yes and the first chiselers on ebay.com and .de have already launched their preorder- but immediate pay - auctions for almost double the price Best Regards Martin
I noticed that too, so I decided to order it through Ottomobiles. Delivery should be in February. Will post here when it arrives.
Heck, i wish i had the money for all the beautifull models that BBr/looksmart/Tecnomodel/otto/CMF, etc are launching!!! If Otto starts making models of the 50/60 it will cause serious problems for BBR/looksmart
Yep, Looksmart is coming with a 288 GTO as well as a GTO Evoluzione. Quoted prices for these are 225 Euro. That's at least better than the inflated BBR prices. Otto can produce similar quality in similar quantities for a fraction of BBR's prices.
I must say that collecting die-cast(resin models is starting to be a very expensive hobby, i'm not sure i can justify it much longer...
Agree, I've actually sold a number of items over the last few months. I think as I go forward I'm going to restrict myself to BMW and Ferrari items only. Collection will be more focused also.
I've been considering selling all my road cars to get only reacing cars ( i only do ferrari)...but then i look at them and i just can't do it, lololo
Maybe it's a sign of getting old but sometimes I look at all the stuff, thousand of magazines going back to the fifties/hundreds of books/brochures/race programmes and all the models and think if I dropped dead tommorow what would my family do with all this stuff. Sorry for the O/T
She just rolls her eyes I don't ask questions when she's been out shopping and goes straight upstairs with a load of bags when she gets home.
AHHH, you're luckyer than me....i must have good excuses to buy (i usualy use Cristhmas and birthday to add some cars.....the other i must get really ingenious!!! She likes my 1/43 f.1 collection but wasn´t amused when she found out how may 1/18s i already had!!!
Just got this e-mail by Ottomobiles, in which they say the following about the 308: The third and last addition to our growing family: a Ferrari! Strange, I hear you say. What's a Ferrari doing in OttO's collection? Far too classy a car for us, unless we choose the one covered in dirt of course! As you will surely have noticed, we intend on honouring Group B Rallying. Following in the footsteps of the Porsche SC RS, the Group B Ferrari 308 GTB comes and adds itself on as the latest exception. In its heyday it tried to muscle up to the Peugeot, Audi and Lancia already en piste, unfortunately without meeting much success. This Ferrari will most certainly be the one and only that is released into our collection.
