The 312p looks good tome..just a couple of things like the exaust pipes....too thick and too long, the rear flap should be diferent, they should look at CMc for that but, overall, seems pretty decent to me.

Pagani has released full view pictures of the Huayra Roadster on it's Facebook page. Who will be the first the take pre-orders for a 1/18 scale model? The press car is blue carbon fiber and it's gorgeous.

I have the CMC 312P Coupe and Spyder. I did the NART livery on my coupe, so I don't have much interest in these. However, if Tecnomodel made the Spyder version in one of the European race liveries, I'd buy one.

My latest order is the RARE Ferrari 512M Penske Daytona race version. Won't arrive until next month. I'd been putting this off because I thought that Looksmart might do one. (they did one in 1/43) That seems to be getting increasingly unlikely.

That one is also on top of my list but the price is just to high for me....i do love the model but i can't justify the price....but congratulations, everytime i look at one i start drooling!!
I also said the same about the cmc 312p...but then i found a grat deal and voila...maybe i'll get lucky with the sunoco 512..

This is why I don't buy diecast or resin ready built models. This BBR 1/18th Mille Miglia winner 315S #0684 body by BBR is a cross between #0674 and #0684. That front looks wrong and should narrow more at the front for #0684. Also the front wheels on the Ferrari cars were green with yellow outer lips and the seats were tan not red. The grill besides being to big is also thick and cheesy looking. Almost good, but the errors are always annoying.

I realised BBr make slots of small mistakes in the historic racing cars.....the wheels are a typical mistake in almost everyone, the front and rear one usualy have diferent colours like blue and green...but no one make them right...i ca't figure why!! Looksmart is doing a better job right now imo but they also miss some details. I was going to buy this one, because together with the 312p it's my favourite sports car..but i'm a bit disapointed by these mistakes...especialy the interior. after they ruined theirs 62 330 tri they've done it again!!

and the Magnetti logos should be red not blue - you would have thought they could have researched better and not just copy other inaccurate models

to get things right BBR needs color pics
so can you tell me the color of the wheels ? are they blue and green or is it yellow and red ?
about seats, most seats where blue at this time, but which blue ?

BBR has photographers at events like Mille Miglia and Villa d Este to get things near perfect and also pays money to the experts
but there are also a lot of ( real ) cars which are restored wrong
so it is not easy to get things wright

I am at Ferrari events for more than 20 years and have a large archive of pics
some of the BBR models where made with the help from my pics

I agree. The problems on models seem to be more limited to just vintage/historic vehicles, since the "new" cars these model companies can get thorough computer files for, which also means someone else did most of the work for them. Fortunately for me, I don't buy/collect many competition cars, but BBR, Minichamps, Tecnomodel, and all others also make mistakes on road cars. There are Only two or three specialist (small companies) that actually bother to make the effort to make their models & kits correct. That obviously does not include specialist independent model builders who also sell their own work, like Jacques Brauer, Patrice de Conto, and several others. Those builders are not part of this discussion.

BBR and ALL others always miss and make mistakes. I have seen mistakes - simple to glaring - on models in all scales and in price ranges from under $100 to over $10,000. They just don't want to spend the time, or money to do the job right. Some just don't know how to do it right, and others think they know it all.....And what makes that even worse is that some of these companies will then write their own PR saying how great they are, while in reality they are NOT.

Hiro from Japan got the colors right on their directions. They also have a language barrier, but still were able to get it right. This is just laziness on BBR's part. You can't trust restored cars ever. Front wheels were green with a yellow lip in 1957 with some cars having a metallic blue on the rear wheels. In 1958 Ferrari started using green only front wheels without the yellow lip on the SEFAC sportscars.

But grill on the bbr looks very thick, they could see that from any picture...as for the interior, i don't know but i believe Tom, althoug i can't understand why it was restored as red!!??
