Hi John, Are you going to replace the wheels and tires? I'm curious what the outside diameter is of the tire/wheel combo on the Tecno.
Maybe that's not a problem when I make it like the replica # 07931. http://www.ferrari-register.nl/ferrari/home/stradali-classici/275/gtb-long-nose/07931 Image Unavailable, Please Login

Yes Peter, I am going to replace te wheels an tires, but I don't know yet for which ones. I will measure up the originals tomorrow for you.
I im just upset by the place they put the suport to attach the car to the base, they could be inteligent enough to put it between the wheels, where nobody would see it, not in the back of the car!!!
Looks great in red John, but the yellow will make i nice contrast amongst all the other gts, and besides it's the most famous version. By the way, today at my "dealer" i had a BBr f12TDF die cast, in yellow, and the model was stuning, the colour was just fantastic!!! I also saw several Amalgams, i had a 917 in my hands, and i cannot justify the 600+ euros for it, it's a lovely model, but the price is just absurd.
Hi Pedro, Thanks for posting pictures of your latest buy. It helped me to decide not to buy this model. I think I could solve the problem of the wheels and tires by replacing them with smaller ones and setting them more inwards, but the amount of small errors in shapes and sizes of especially the nose section has put me off. Don't get fooled by the real car picture, the headlamps for example, they seem shorter on the real car and longer on the model, but in reality they are spot on, compare with the pictures that John put above on post #1080. perhaps the auxiliary lamps below the main ones should be a bit bigger but that is probably the biggest thing i can point to the model (apart fom the front wheels of course)
Peter, if you are going to change your mind to buy this model, the outside-diameter of the complete wheel is 36,5 mm.
Tecnomodel 275 GTB/C Nice looking model in general, but .....very wrong in too many areas, and of course the various body shape problems are significant. As much as I had hoped this model would be accurate enough for my collection, it is not. It is typical Tecnomodel. Still a nice model for some, but I am trying to focus on very accurate and well detailed models, which certainly limits my choices these days!
Thanks John, that's actually smaller than I suspected. The BBR tires are 38mm front and 41mm rear. So it won't do any good replacing them with the BBRs.
I am going to use tires from a Kyosho 250 GTO and wire-wheels from BBR. I have done that before with a 1:18 250 Breadvan from APM. (model-kit)
Long ago, I bought 5 or 6 GTO's (all the same #22) for a very, very small price. I wanted to rebuild them to different racecars, but I did only 2 cars. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login 2 of them I used for spareparts for the Breadvan (APM-Kit) and the 250 GT Sperimentale (Tecnomodel) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login I believe, now there are 1 1/2 left, so there's not so much left anymore. Here below you see how I make the BBR-wheels fit into the Kyosho tires. Image Unavailable, Please Login
new releases from tecnomodel already avaiable...still no real pics... As usual very nice subjects, both the Lola ad the Lotus looks very nice but i'm no expert on these cars...
