Not sure, this is the exoto equivalent, but that is way beyond my budget. To me, the GP version looks better than the Tecnomodel version, and way better than the CMR version, which I have currently and is horribly cheap. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think i'm gonna grab this one, looked like a tecnomodel tio me, but i can see certain diferences, for the better. Any thought on the model? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They say, they are from a new brand "Maxima"? From the same brand is coming a 250 GT Drogo Speciale s/n 4769GT 1962
Looks pretty good to me. One thing I hate that this new mfg. and most other manufacturers like them do... They claim "limited edition" but do NOT say how many or how few. No marketing brains at all.
Agreed! But... on the flip side, there have been and still are companies who are actually honest, and abide by what they claim & advertise, and also don't try to over-milk the cow.
Bought this as bday present. I normally have a rule that I only buy Maserati models but 2053 GT is one I have lusted for since I was a kid. CMR model with special display case, got it at Luca Fornetti's fabulous shop in Maranello. It seems my prayers for a 1/18 Maserati Boomerang will soon be answered by Top Marques: Image Unavailable, Please Login
QUESTION: So my local supplier has just received their batch of CMC Ferrari 275 GTB/C in red. I already own 15 or so CMC models (mostly Ferrari) and have been very happy with their details so far. I've "heard" but never actually read that there has been a lot of criticism over the 275 GTB/C model but am actually not aware of any of the faults in the final production examples. I'm going to buy the model irrespective but just wondering what faults or issues I should be looking out for when I open the box for the first time ? Cheers. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've seen a lot of complaints about door and fender gaps, windshield and back glass trim and gasket imperfections on the forums, a few with broken suspension pieces too. I miss the days when you could go to a dealer and inspect models before purchasing them.
The worst for me is the trim around the rear window, so, so thick, looks like a tree log and it destroys IMO all the image of the car.
That rear window issue bothers me as well but I saw some discussion on another forum where it seemed to be worse on some production examples than others. I’m hoping they improve it as they roll out subsequent colors. I took a risk and pre-ordered the #4 Nassau Tourist Trophy chassis #09063 because of the color. I like that color enough that I’m willing to live with some of the flaws. As an aside, I just stumbled across this thread after posting a question on one of the vintage forums here about the original color of that car. It looks like a great source of information on new Ferrari 1/18th scale releases. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I preordered it too, the only one I've ordered, it has wire wheels whereas the street version have alloy disc wheels.
It is the "Maxima" brand with several 312P versions. I looked on the CarModels web site and they say it will be available third quarter of this year at about $250 U.S. Who knows if and when it will be available but I will keep checking the site. I would prefer the #57 NART version but would take any of them. One of my favorite Ferrari sports-racers.
I found a short video of the car as it was at the time of a somewhat recent auction. I've never seen a Rosso Rubino Ferrari in person so I found the video interesting as it shows how that color can seem to vary depending on the angle of the light hitting it.
