Does anyone make a nice 348 Spider model? About 20 years ago there was a company that used to custom paint ferrari models. They advertised in the back of Forza. Do they still exist?
A quick Google search. https://www.ebay.com/itm/304721087735?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&srsltid=AeTuncq-_HkJNky1vhWu2g94O3dH_6Hj6Sm29CSauZ0t7k02yjwj24L3-Go
Was on the fence about ignoring you, now my mind is made up. Just be nice on the internet. Attacking strangers with snark and bluster won’t fix what’s truly bothering you. GN.
I have ordered most of my 1:18s from these folks - always good results - No Spiders though :-( https://www.diecastmodelswholesale.com/ferrari-348-tb-black-1-18-diecast-car-model-by-hot-wheels/ https://www.diecastmodelswholesale.com/ferrari-348-ts-elite-edition-red-1-18-limited-edition-by-hot-wheels/
I agree Brian just did a search for you to get you an answer there was no snark in his reply. At a ll. I don't get it but... sometimes it "feels" like you look for conflict Lucas where none exists and may not realize it, not being snarky or attacking, just an observation. Peace.
In my defense, a google search link is about as passive-aggressive a reply as possible. Obviously I googled it before making a post. My question was not “are there any models out there on eBay I can buy?” My question was “Does anyone make a nice 348 Spider model?” which was meant to solicit opinions from the community. I also asked about an old business I used in the past that customized models.
Was just curious as I had never seen a Spider. Only the plethora of tb and ts models. So I did a quick search. That was the only one I found. I should have explained more.
There are more 1/43 options but oddly not many 1:18 Spiders. Of the ones I have seen the GT Vision one seems the nicest at least the body. I do not believe many are made any more and probably NOS. I recall the Hot Wheels one was pretty nice.
Looks like Mira has a 1/18 Spider but it kind of sucks. That one I posted, their main website is here. https://livecarmodel.com/products/1-18-gt-spirit-1994-ferrari-348-spider-blue-resin-car-model.html
If anyone on this thread is interested in seeing images of my Mira 1:18 scale 348 Spider I am happy to post them. I agree it’s not the best representation of the model in miniature but I had the interior refinished in black to replicate my triple black 95 Spider. It does have luggage in the “frunk” but it’s not a good representation of, say what the 3-piece set of Schedoni would look like but no big deal. Fortunately it does not have SF shields adorning the front fenders but unfortunately it does not have Ferrari wheel caps. Overall, it’s a pretty good model and generates a lot of conversation at shows when parked next to the real thing!

^Could you please measure the wheels (width, diamenter)? My BBurago TB has left side wheels all around, your Mira seems to have right side wheels all around. If they match in size, There might be a small chance to find the correct wheels to other side also.
IMO, AutoArt is the best brand. The only question is whether they made a 348. For the GT Spirit brand, I just bought a 1:18 Jeep Wrangler 392 (because I have one on order) and am very disappointed in the quality.
AutoArt is where it’s at but I don’t think the did a 348. Will measure my wheels. GT spirit is expensive for a non opening model.
I don’t believe AutoArt has ever had a license to produce Ferrari models. The Mira model shown above has a pre-1994 tb/ts paint job and incorrect 348 boot script. Detail was definitely not there calling card.
In Mira’s defense, they clearly made this model years before the 348 Spider was actually released. I guess it was speculative?
Yes, that’s what I’m speculating since it’s stamped 1989 on the bottom and has many incorrect details as noted above. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ah. My bet is that the undertray plastic mold is the same for the ts and tb models which came earlier....meaning it was for a 1989 Ferrari 348....but the model itself wasn't that old.
