Very interesting model. I cannot help you very much, but I can testify that it was not assembled from a Renaissance nor from an Italeri/Revell kit.

I have both Renaissance and Italeri/Revell kits and there are many subbtle differences between them and your model.

According to Alex Kustov excellent Italian Horses web site, Ex models also made a berlinetta version of the 275 GTB.

If Alex would jump into this conversation, he could probably be able to bring more informations concerning your model.

I don´t really no very much of the brand EX models.
But I know that their 275´s are very rare! I saw appearance at ebay only 6-7 times through the last 10years. Always short nose berlinettas - this is the first spyder i see.
    Very nice model, extreme rare.
Interesting: it looks like it´s made on the same base as the short nose berlinetta.
Has there ever existed a short nose NART Spyder?

Excellent build of a short nose berlinetta on Alex Kustow´s site:

EX models was from Japan. They also made a pretty good Alfa TZ1 and a few other kits. They are now long gone. This model I believe pre dates the other 1/24th NART 275 kits.

    >>>I have added another pic which shows that (in my opinion) the model is not the same<<<

Hard to say at these pics.
Attached comparison between ITALERI 275 NART Spyder and EX Models Short Nose Berlinetta. EX Models is before restauration and does not sit proper on its chassis, but it shows the differences of the front.
Despite your Spyder might not be authentic in all details, it´s a very nice model- and extremly rare!

P.S.: Can anybody tell me, how to implement a quote the right way?

At CMA Models, we bought, custom built, and sold several of their NART Spyder's and 275 GTB short nose kits/models in the early 1990's. Kits produced in Japan. They needed a lot of extra help with detailing and modifications, but were pretty nice.

Shown is an old photo of one of the NART Spyder's we built using the EX kit.

I have a EX Model longnose 275GTB/4 unbuilt kit as well as a built shortnose. Both were purchased from CMA. The built was done by Buzz Lockwood. The rims/tires look a little big on the built model. I want to change them out for aluminum type rims.

I would like to see the shortnose come out again as they raced everywhere by there owners when they were new. Many (I use that term in a relative fashion of course) factory comp cars were shortnose for that very purpose which makes them interesting in my opinion.

I have to admit I do envy you; As a passionate 1/24 scale collecter this is one of the items on the wishlist. Good luck and maybe we can share some pictures. Kind regards, Simon
