I'm about to start two of these kits, on resembling my 360 and one of my friend's 360. Depending on the ecterior color you want to do, Tamiya has acrylic spray paints that are fantastic and match the real colors. I reccomend using some fine grit sand paper to prepare the body for paint, and use the brush on glue, not the tube stuff. I would also reccomend completing some of the sub-assemblies and then sanding down the seams and mold lines, and then painting. Go to your LHS and see what brush and spary paints they have, oh, and BTW, acrylic and enamel do not mix!!!!! Take your time and it will work out fine. Tamiya kits are very well thought out and molded, you will be happy with the finished product. I have something like 100 built and unbuilt Tamiya kits, several wich are in some stage of construction. Find another Ferrari model, like the F40, and work on both at the same time, so as you are waiting for the paint to cure on one you can work on another, and you can spray a lot of the common color parts such as flat black at the same time for both models.. Take some digital pics of the process and post them. I'd love to see them.

I would paint it again, the difference between the bare plastic finish and the painted finish is significant. The nice thing is that you won't have to use a etching primer; just use a very fine grit sandpaper to give the surface some bite the paint can adhere to, and it will look great. I really do reccomend the Tamiya rattle cans. Just be sure to spray several light coats about 30 min. apart (3 coats should do it). You should also paint all the plac parts too, even if they are molded in Black, to give it the right finish.

I presume the interior will be tan, so see if AS-15 Tan (USAF) will do; let me know wha the interior color will be and I might be able to help you out.

For brushing on paint, such as engine detail,
    XF-16 Aluminum
    XF-7 Red--for the valve covers
    XF-1 Black

then use the matte (semi-gloss) on the leather surfaces and flat black for the carpeting, etc.

If you don't waste the paint, you can get a number of models' worth out of the black, etc., but get 2 cans of the body color; that is my standard practice.

Get the sandpaper package from the same site as the paints, and sand down the body with fine grade sandpaper, and use an emery board for the mold seam lines that pop up now and again. then wash the body with warm water and a little laundry detergent, and use a coat hangar to bend up a frame that you can tape to the inside of the body so it doesn't touch the ground. Then spread some newspaper in a clean, dust free and well ventilated area, such as your garage, and spray the lower surfaces and underside first, and then the sides and top in thin coats, from about 8-10 inches from the model. allow about 30-45 min to dry and repeat. The glue I reccomended is the one you should use. it actually melts and fuses the plastic parts together, and if you use a fine tip paint prush, it is very easily applied. a brush comes included in the inside of the cap.

Thank you Angelo! You have been a big help! I am assuming I have to paint everything that should be painted before assembling.

No, as I said before, there will be some sub-assemblies such as engine, exhaust, wtc, that you should glue together first, then sand and paint. trying to glue painted pieces together can be difficult and a little messy.

Okay I get it. But the things that I should paint after assembly dont require sanding?

they do require sanding after assembly and before painting the sanding will take down the seams and mold lines.
