A bit off topic but some of you might like these new models.

A company called Metro Media in Italy did a very nice 1965 Alfa Guilia 1600 Super in 1/24
scale as a promo for Quattroruote magazine. It is high quality. Also Cararama has made a Brera and 159 and Wellys has made the Alfa 8C Competizione and new Brera based Spider all in 1/24.These are all very nice models made in China. They are also very hard to find in the USA.

I just saw a 2008 8c Competicione from Bburago in 1:18. They really stepped up their game. Looked really nice. I asked my hobby shop to save it for me for the next time I go there as I didn't have any money on me.

Here are a few pictures of the Alfa Romeo 1/24 1965 Gulia 1600 Super. They are produced for Quattroruote by Fabbri and Metro Media.More are coming inluding the Lancia Fulvia HF
    in 1/24 scale!

Fabbri also makes a large amount of Alfa models in 1/43 scale.

I do not normally bother with diecasts as they dont have enough detail. These however are pretty nice and not available in kit form(other than a super rare TCberg/Scaleline kit from Japan)+ they are 1/24 model scale.

Lovely model, I need one NOW!

I have a great affection for Guilia Super's having had two in 'real life'. The best was an internally modified version with a 2 litre engine and gearbox from a GTV plus the LSD rear axle. When I parted with it the car had done well in excess of 130,000 miles. Coupled with a badge on the back that said '1300' you could seriously upset 'modern' BMW drivers as you out accelerated, or just drove past them with ease. I suspect this beast was the cause of many BMW's going into the garage for a service. Engine noise aside it was the quietest car for wind noise I have driven, despite its shape. The first 'Italian Job' film and its depiction of the Italian Police undermines what is a great four seater performance car.
