I know that it's no Ferrari, but I think I did a pretty good job building this kit. Of course, I opened the doors and built all the jambs, hinges, etc, but also detailled up the interior and engine bay a bit with the help of Hobby Design's photo etch set and some creative scratchbuilding. Paint is Nero lacquer, interior is Avorio. I made the bird's eye maple decals and did the steering wheel using 12 decals. Ciao, Dennis

Sorry, I don't build for others, I am pressed to find time for my own, it takes me a long time for each one, but I really like building them.

Very well done indeed. most people don't realize the amount of work that goes just to make those doors to open the way they do.

If you don't mind telling, where did you get the decals for the maplewood?

I actually photographed the bird's eye maple in hi-res, then had decals made locally, and the doors do work, but they don't sit flush closed, they did before all the finish work, oh well, I've opened and hinged doors on many models, and I never display them closed, otherwise, why bother opening them! Hood sits flush closed. Here's a link to the build if you 're interested. http://public.fotki.com/dino246gt/aston-martin-dbs/

Beautiful work on the Aston, love the upgrades. I've built two now (red one that was a review model for Scale Auto), and a second that I did in blue w/some resin 20" BBS Challenge wheels intended for a Ferrari...they look as good on an Aston as a Ferrari, it's a model, doesn't matter if you can't do that on a real car.

Not sure if you used the kit tires or not, they're from the GTR and are too tall, I stretched some Pegasus Michelin Pilot Sport tires over both the stock wheels and the Ferrari wheels, they're much nicer than what Tamiya put in the kit, and look more accurate.
