    This looked interesting, coming up for auction at Sotheby's 2 weekends from now. I love the larger 1:12 & 1:8 scale but this one is probably going to go for more than I'd be willing to part with. Anyone familiar with S.P.O.R.T.S. Models? - Marshall? I've only purchased one 1:8 Amalgam B.A.R. Honda from Sotheby's - it arrived in pieces, so be careful if anyone decides to bid (I did get a 100% refund).

    Yes, I'm familiar with them, and I brokered/sold one of these about 10 years ago... maybe longer. Don't recall the selling price, but definitely over $3K back then. I firmly believe that RM's estimate is too high, but I see why they are estimating more since that table is included with the model. The model itself should be $4,500 to $6K.

    These S.P.O.R.T.S. Models are BIG, but not very detailed, and they are much sturdier than anything made by Amalgam. So it should ship fairly well, but some parts may come loose or off altogether in shipping.
