This is just a quick heads up to the community, lowest mileage Testarossa available on the open market just listed on Ebay. Ferrari Testarossa Base | eBay
Ferraristi, I'm kinda skeptical that it actually has only 1700 miles. Most cars with that low mileage are still on the original goodyear Gatorbacks ( as in preservation ) If you look at the lower part of the outside driver bolster, there is some wear on the stitching. I can't believe that would happen at only 1700 miles. Shamile Freeze.....Miami Vice!
I think the seats look fine, looks like normal age to me; also don't know how many times they got in and out of the car.
Looks great! I always think that the TR interior is a little bit nicer, than the 512 TR interior, except the seats. And for the wheels, perhaps the original wheels are save in stock and the 512 TR are only for "rolling"…
As the owner of the car I can assure everyone the mileage is correct and the appearance of the car reflects that in all respects. The seats did not photograph that well, but that is my fault. The ad clearly states that the original wheels still mounted with the original tires are stored off the car and go with the sale. I only put the 512 TR wheels on to preserve the originals.
I see it all the time. Many owners with personal showrooms just sit in and allow others to sit in their cars on a routine basis and the car does not move (fantasy driving). Either way all it takes is a rough waist belt(s) and there you have it - bolster scuffs/wear over the decades of in and out.
Ferraristi Ah...well, I stand corrected then. As fellow owners, take what we've seen as pointers to what will come up in your sale. For the little "hairs" on the stitching, use a nail clipper to remove them. This may be a pain, but I would suggest a photo with the original wheels and tires on them. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice!
The last photo contained in the Ebay ad and eluded to in the description text shows the original wheels and tires mounted on the car shortly after I received it. I then removed those for proper storage and mounted the 512TR rims for the light usage it has received since. The seat truly does appear less "frayed" and worn from use in person. Aged over 25 years, yes, but nor worn from use. I think the ad is honest, devoid of hype and exaggeration. The car is genuine, collectible and extremely rare in its mechanical and cosmetic condition. Thanks for the interest.
Ferraristi No one here is saying your ad is hyped or dishonest. You have a very rare bird on your hands and there will be tough scrutiny from this board. Your TR is not a known car here and it will be more of the collector crowd that will be seriously looking at it.I wouldn't be surprised if the buyer comes from this site. I personally think you're selling too soon. The TR market hasn't moved the way the boxer or Countach market has but given historical trends, your car would fetch a premium should and when the TR market moves. Shamile Freeze. ..Miami Vice!
I think this one should fetch between $125-150k. Hope it does On another note, I too have the original tyres with about 90% tread and feel like they should be in storage rather than on the road.
Ferraristi The original rims and tires would be kept for collector and concours purposes. I think all of the photos should have shown the original "shoes"....since that's the market that car will be aiming for. Shamile Freeze. ..Miami Vice!
ours is a 90' with about 1500 miles…ordered it new….ours has similar bolster wear, its pretty common in these cars….a simple carfax should verify the mileage pretty easily
Thank you, and that is exactly right, I ordered the Carfax prior to my purchase. It is very simple and clean, first owner, second longer term owner and myself.
