Anyone here have any 1:87 (HO train scale) F or L cars? A long time desire of mine which might come true in the next few years now that we've got our eye on a house and the kids will be moving on hopefully, is a train layout in this scale ... which will wind through various European and US cities. On large part of it though, more than the trains, will be the scenery. Of course at least somewhere along the lines I'd like to model a nice dealership (been thinking of doing the Lamborghini Factory circa mid 80's entirely, but not sure)...

The only hold up with this, or even doing justice to the L.A. and Paris streets, is finding good quality 1:87 exotics... anyone know of a good maker of this size Ferrari or Lamborghini models?

Redline just started a 1:87 line of Ferrari's. I think there was a thread about them in the last few months.

I had some Herpa Porsches years ago when I first started collecting trains with my dad. I had a Testarossa as well, but it has been lost over the years I think...
I'm looking into getting a few of theirs again but was wondering if anyone knew of others as well?

If only Kyosho or AutoArt did that small :)

Herpa did a group of Ferraris back in the early 1990s. I've got just about all of them if you want pictures

If funds are limited, try the Monogram line called "Mini Exacts". They're not as detailed as the other cars shown here, but a little paint detailing can do a lot for them. Look for them on ebay. Item # 200187710413 includes a MB 1955 300SL, Jaguar E-type, Countach, 427 Cobra, and 250 GTO. Right now, the auction has 17 hours to go. Opening bid is 99 cents and there are no bids.
