The t coupe was only built for the U.S. market in 1989. Factory records show that only 42 U.S. spec t coupes were made. A bit of a rare bird. Ciao, John
I'm sure you are correct. The total worldwide production during the production life on the t Coupe between 1989 and 1993 was 840. For whatever marketing reason prevailed at the time, the U.S. only received a few of them and then only for one year. Ciao, John
The US market for mondials were pretty heavy with cabriolets. At one point I got disgusted with mundane car shops and was thinking about a mondi coupe for a "winter rat" (to have a car that good mechanics work on). But by the 3.2s mostly you find ragtops. At least your transport company didn't show up with a big high floor truck ... ... so you'd have to look down from the truck bed along the too-steep ramps to the ground below, to say ... ... "It's a long way to tip a rarie." <eep>
Oh wow, that car looks G R E A T in red! I know it has been a long wait, and a big hunt, but BOY did it pay off. You have a stunner! I have enjoyed being in the loop while you looked for this car. I feel like an "insider." Great car you have there. Oh, and TWO Ferraris. You just have to luv that.
why thanks! but this makes 3 f-cars. I need a way bigger garage! maybe I will take out the kitchen and livingroom? never use them anyways! LOL
I've driven my new "1 of 42" for two days now. 19661 miles (sold new 3/30/90 for $125,000!?!?!, I paid less than a third of that) and I've put more miles on it than the PO did the last three years. What a marvelous car. It feels like my Sports 2000 Lola on the street. The combination of "juice" from the 348 drivetrain plus the longer wheelbase, good power steering, terrific shock damping selection (the switch actually makes a big difference between all three settings) and the old tube-frame/unibody "belt plus suspenders" approach to the body structure makes for a really rigid, torsionally stiff car. I am SO glad I got this car. I've been smiling non-stop for days! Welcome to one of the more exclusive "brotherhoods!" You have a new sweetheart! -Peter
Arie congratulations on your "new" T coupe. No one has mentioned this yet but if you've spent much time driving your "new" car, you may have already discovered the very low clearance of the T coupe in comparison to other cars (Riding in Sophia and getting out is very much like riding in the shifter kart that shares a home with Sophia). Words of advice, use caution over speed bumps (avoid like the plague if at all possible), take some parking lot entrances at a definite angle and most of all have fun. Carol
LOL! T H R E E Ferrari's, and by the looks of it, all of them good! Lets see a "family" photo some day in the future. Three all lined up, heck, you are your own Italian car show. Nice work.
Congrats Arie, that is one beautiful car. Although I'm not in the coupe brotherhood, I still have a first cousin. Enjoy your Mondial t. I know I enjoy mine...
CONGRATS ARIE! From "your brother from another mother..." She is a Beauty...would love to learn more, and see it up close and personal some day. Hopefully we can put together a local meet soon. Mondials forever. Fyrrari
Here its relative from the East Coast. I hope you drive yours and enjoy it. I've been using mine as a daily driver, weather permitting, and it is always a treat to get into, even if I'm not going far and am just warming up by the time I arrive. Good luck! Image Unavailable, Please Login
