    When was the picture taken ? If old, then possible, if recent, then the owner is full of sh*t..

    There are and have been plenty of 599's available in the US for quite a while now ..

    Saw a nice black one at last year's Tutto Italiano in Brookline, Mass.

    Why is it not possible? Didn't say it was new...said it was first one to arrive whenever it did.

    More importantly...what the hell is 599 doing at Maaco. Hopefully its the business owners car. I can't imagine a Ferrari owner taking his car to Macco for paint.

    **Just read my post and realize how inappropriate it is to assume a Maaco shop is just that. Maybe they have someone that knows what they are doing. Anything is possible

    I just re read my post and yours Saint Bastage, and I see what you're saying.

    I took it as if this 599 was just being delivered new NOW, even thought he car has been out for two years.

    Yes, if this car is a few years old already, it could very well have been the first one in the US.

    Sorry for not being clear. This is not the only 599 in the US but first one to come off the boat. And no...it is not having any work done at Maaco. He was just there that day visiting with the owner.

    I know of a very early 599 in NY which is supposedly held up in customs :( no idea why, I thought eurospec cars are brought here anymore

    Interesting. I recall meeting a wealthy New York investment banker at Pebble Beach (also an Enzo owner) who claimed that his 599 was the first one into the US. This car is the right color combo and had the same racing seats that the New York guy's car had, but this one has a connecticut plate on it. Maybe it's been resold since?
