10/21 Rally to FofNE Brazilian GP event

It will be a Poker Rally!!!!!

9 a.m. - We'll meet, catch up and record odometers.

9:45 a.m. - we leave Starbucks on Rte 9 in southborough.

There will be 4 stops - perhaps 5 - to pickup your playing cards.

1 p.m. - we'll play our hands at the dealership in Foxboro.

Each of the stops will be offering coupons, discounts, 'perks' for those participating (all welcome Fcars or not)

All will be asked to donate $5 to the kitty as there will be a '50/50 raffle type' award at the dealership for LEAST MILES covered will all stops made.

We're working to have prizes for the 3 best hands and are getting donations lined up now....if you have any ideas....pm me.

a.) ANY car is welcome...let's wrap this season up in style.
as my roommate said in college, "...bigger is better, enormous is beautiful..."

please don't crash their gate and blow their catering situation up....everyone's welcome...just be polite and give'em a

c.) our goal here is to build the community - we need club more members.
the pre-requisite for membership is PASSION - if you like the people, the events, the cars - join the club and help keep
the fire burning...besides, I'm sick & tired of MA region being 2nd fiddle to CT...they've got us beat by 30+ members....

And note that there is a weekly informal sports car gathering at the same Starbucks location in Southborough on Rt. 9 eastbound (in Tommasso plaza) each Sunday, weather permitting, at around 9 AM (usually Ferrari, Porsche and other cars are there by 9:30 or so).

 

Loose, I'll be there, sounds like a neat twist on a "drive".

I'll be there too. One question though, the race starts at 11:30 and the invite @foNE is at 11am. Will we have enough time to do this poker run? In your post you say "1 p.m. - we'll play our hands at the dealership in Foxboro."

Hi Theo - the plan is to arrive at the dealership no later than 11:30 a.m. I just wanted to give everyone some breathing room before we played the hands out. See you there! - Bruce

What's the deadline for the Poker Run registration? I'm still hunting for a battery for my 308 (it died saturday)...hmmm....

LOL....good point, however I think my 'next' hurdle will be locating an inspection sticker prior to sunday....just remembered that yesterday.

Don't let that stop you, I have 2 occasional use cars I havn't had stickers on in 10yrs! No joke, just lucky I guess. Plus the poker run is all about gambling isn't it?????

I did locate a Sears DieHard that will work - I'll know this evening whether I can make/register for the Poker Run.

Thanks for the offer, Pizzaman - I'm all set. Dumb-azz me almost arc-welded a Craftsman 10mm to the Spare-Tire Hold-down, but what's alittle Ferrari tinkering without a few sparks and drama! WOO-HAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

 

Good thing she knows how to get to the dealership on her own then.
