Can anyone help me out with a Crownwheel and pinion ratio 10 / 43 which is found in manual cars?

Unfortunately my manual 400i has worn through its teeth. Diff was well serviced but the case hardening has worn though and is starting to make some noise. We disassembled expecting to replace bearings and put it back together but unfortunately found the damage.

I believe this ratio is specific to manual cars and I assume is found in all the 365 400 or 412 variants with the rear diff, front gearbox torque tube setup (365 GT 2+2, GT4/C, GT 2+2, 400 & 412). The ratio can be found on the back of the diff without opening the case.

Would consider new old stock, used or if anyone is remanufacturing them. Happy to buy a whole diff or just the crown wheel and pinion.

Hard to find with this gear ratio...

Coppola Old Timer close to Napoli did fix my brother's 365 diff. He also fixed my cracked cylinder head (previous repair by my machinist had failed). So good experiences with him.

For whatever reason that ratio is very difficult to find and if you do its frightfully expensive. Id concentrate my search to finding a used complete differential from a car being parted out.
If you must, it would be less expensive to get new gears made by one of the few who specialize in fabricating differential gears.

These diffs are much more fragile than the ones on the auto, probably due to the smaller bevel gear that "bites" the crown wheel at a more agressive angle. The main axle does also turn significantly faster (Overdrive gearbox), which probanly makes things worse.

Needless to say used diffs are almost impossible to find.

Cutting a set of gears was close to €3600. Fixing the existing diff in Italy was a third of that. Not sure how the diff will hold in the long term, but after two years it still works. At that price level, that's good value for money.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I’m aware that finding one is not going to be easy. I’ve already started looking into getting some cut. Does anyone know of a machine shop who has cut them before? It would save some $ if I don’t have to go through the measurement and setup stage. Thanks
