Yeah, I know going to be a bit campy but I’m big fan of cheesy disaster films. Ever since I saw the 1974 film, Earthquake with Charton Heston, I was hooked. Anyone else going to watch the west coast get thrashed tonight? Looks like some great special effects. LOL!

I'm watching. The first half of the first half I was just making fun of it. This last hour I've actually had enough time to get into it. Doubt I'll see the 2nd part unless it happens to be on when I'm around. I never set my schedule around TV, except for racing.

Funniest show I've seen in a while. Campy acting, less than average special effects. The Golden Gate Bridge breaking up was a model & bad one at that. Where the hell are the CGI computer graphics or was the budget wasted on has-been actors like Bo Duke? Maybe he'll jump the fault line like the General Lee did. I gotta say, the girl that played his daughter is pretty hot.

Remember when the 1974 version aired in the Los Angeles area(if you happened to live there at the time) and the big attraction was that the sound would be broadcast over FM radio?

I'm watching it now.... cheezy, predictable.... why do I do this to myself?
Now what is next? A downpour of earthquake readiness programs "untested" broadcast over the news? My insurance company calling me to tell me that eartquake coverage has been waived as industry practice.

so..if earthquake movies are to California as Godzilla is to Japan... does that happen allot there as well? :)

Sorry I took so long to get back, I was busy sharpening japanese punji sticks. The plan is to reunite Bo Duke with the General Lee, take out the passenger side lock and seatbelt and hopefully the Bridge will be on full tilt boogie - so when Bo punches it to clear the mighty Russian River draining into a spiralling vortex - she'll fall into a huge pit filled with my fresh punji spikes and get impaled n' stuff. We've got to save the world from her whining.

If you're with me, it sure beats packing up and moving, don'tcha think?

Dang, when Bo Duke and the girl took off down the hill I started having major flashbacks to Hazard. I was then let down when he didn't jump where the bridge was out, Bo would have done that. Imposter!!!

Did anyone else get nauseated while watching that movie? So much zooming in and out of sync, switching views, panning quickly ala "24" It was like letting a drunk man film a home video. Whats with this new type of filming? I dont like its to sporadic and like my example up above.-

I think it started with epileptic, I mean, episodic TV dramas, chiefly, "Hill Street Blues." (Last TV Drama I watched). You're right though - now you need Dramamine.

    Lessons of 10.5

    * The terrorists MAY have had something to do with it

    * The US military is still the best at breaking things

    * If it harms the American people.... NUKE IT!

    * Californians don't always choose the most environmentaly friendly methods of sloving a crisis.

    * Californians, with the assist of elected officials still know how to make a bad situation worse.

    * Cause geographical alterations without filing an environmental impact report, create an island without a permit and get away with it scott free.

    did I miss anything?

Don't forget that you can always run safely away from the giant fissure while the 10.5 earthquake is actually occurring(along with everyone else)

If you look closely at the scene with beach breaking up, you can see sun bathers lying about. Evacuation of LA my arse. I guess getting the perfect tan is still the most important matter. This has to be one of the most craptastic made for TV epics of all time.
