In the supermarket tonight, I saw a special edition published by "American History" magazine called "100 Greatest Sports Movies". Of course, I wondered, as you would, "Does it include....?"

Well, relax. The two most iconic racing movies that you can think of are both in there. "Grand Prix" is rated #40, and "Le Mans" is rated #96. One can always quibble with those numbers, but as far as I'm concerned, just the fact that both movies made the cut is good enough for me.

(For the record, they rated "Raging Bull" as #1 and "The Hustler" (with future racing driver Paul Newman) as #2.)

On Any Sunday. This has to be a true classic. People still watch it today and enjoy it. I looked it up on Netflix last night and see they have the original and two follow-ups available for viewing and On Any Sunday II on DVD.
If you have not seen it, take a look. I know you will enjoy it. It is in documentary form but with a story........l

It is a classic and I grew up loving these movies but when I saw them again recently they were aged and not quite as good as I remembered.

Gee. At my recent high school class reunion, my old girlfriends said the very same thing about ME!

The two greatest cycling movies: "American Flyers" and "Breaking Away". Hmmm... maybe the ONLY two cycling movies... great nonetheless!
