Do gas stations here provide it? Is it worth it? Highest I've seen in 93/94.
The LA folk have a few stations in the city. There's a thread on it in their forum. Thought we might too.
You really don't need more than 92/93 octane in any unmodified car . If the engine's compression has been raised or the timing advanced, then you'll need higher octane. If not , you're fine with Premium. Higher octane won't hurt the engine. It's just sort of wasting money. Hope this helped.
Sunoco CAM2 100 octane fuel: http://www.racegas.com/gt100locals/default.asp Race gas from the track is generally leaded and should not be used in street cars with cats.
Be careful. Even without cats you should not use leaded gas in a "modern" car. The lead will also mess up the Oxygen Sensor.
The engines in street cars are not made for 100 Octane. Put high-test gas in at your own risk. Contrary to rumors that it improves performance, the engines are not made to handle it. A mechanical engineer (not any engine mechanic) can explain it in better terms.
And that movie star just passed a law making it illegal to have sex with a corpse. Seems they have a problem in Cali with that Only in California
High octane (100+) street fuel such as CAM2 will not harm any engine. Some race fuel (non street) is not compatible with some of the plastic fittings etc. in a production car and should not be used.
