    Hey guys
    - simptoms

    11 days ago we’ve taken delivery of a 200KM F8.
    Car is amazing.

Since pickup we’ve noticed the shocks when downshifting were a bit more brutal than normal.. but tought maybe its just placebo or something…

today… driving slow… car downshifted and felt like it would break into pieces. mechanical noises were heard.

red gearbox light came up. car started to act funny, shifting from 3 to 6 and so on, rev counter went crazy.

parked the car.. put a diag.. 12 ECU errors (our diag couldnt interpret it), 4 gearbox errors :
    P0882 Power Lpwr too low
P197D APP Synchro 4th too high (4th gear control fault cant reach)
P1980 same as above but 5th gear
P198E L2 Sg10 Blocked Rear Axle Too low (rear blocked axle risk during shift)

Downshifting locks up the rear wheels and shocks the entire car… can hear the tyres squeal

On auto it seemed to drive fine… only doing this on manual.. but after some further testing started doing it in auto as well.. no matter what manettino mode.. even esc off

Disconnected the battery to reset everything… drove for a spin.. nothing.. one more spin, started doing again even in easy driving… no lights tho.. 1 hour later… light came again..

Ferrari factory and our dealership here is closed for the whole month……..

    anybody else had this issue??
car is perfect on upshifts… only on downshifts on mid range RPM (3-6000) and very low rpm it doesnt know what to do…

    thank you :)

Bummer, sounds like a flatbed to the dealership is in order.

Drive it into the ground and then dump it at the dealer. With only 1000 km, this is Ferrari’s problem and not yours. Don’t worry about it or try to diagnose, just drop it on the doorstep of your dealer and tell them to fix it.

You're kidding right? This is the worst advice I've read for a long time.

Have you ever dealt with Ferrari factory warranty issues? Here's what will happen. They will deal with the gearbox but you are stuck with the bill for everything else that was damaged due to you driving on.

Also, recommending that the car is driven with a gearbox that locks up the rear wheels?
I'm speechless. You obviously have no idea how dangerous that is. Please refrain from posting advice if it's beyond your experience and knowledge. It is in this case dangerous and could be very costly.

Feel for you, is it possible to get it collected and taken to another Ferrari dealer ? As yours is closed for a month and car doesn’t have to go back to supplying dealership (although often preferable)

Appears you must be in Europe if dealer is closed most of August; at this point as others have mentioned best to flatbed to dealer when they are scheduled to open. I assume no one tried to mess with the ecu with a tune.
