Looking for extremely well sorted early steel bodied 308 GTB non catalyst ‘76-77 or Euro dry sump car. Price commensurate with condition. Will go higher for absolute right Euro car. Want to avoid upgrade-itis and get absolute best example I can find. Please reach out with what you have.
    Thanks

Awesome, the early 308s don't get the respect they deserve.

One piece of information. I was considering buying a Euro '77-'78 GTB circa 2018, but $100k couldn't get that done, they were $125-$150k for the good ones. US Spec, easy though.

Wait a little bit until 'the recession' kicks in just a little bit more...

    I remember in 2009 I saw a ton of TR's for 80k, 308's for 35-40K, 355's for 45-55k, 360's for 50-60K.

    Thanks gentlemen.

Hannibal’s 308 in AZ seems like a great, well sorted driver and he and I have been in touch about his car. The Euro car looks great—at 155k I’d probably be more tempted to seek out a vetroresina though. I think I’d have 95% of the vintage analog experience in a plain US spec carb 308 and be less likely to view it as any sort of investment.

Given the currently listed 308s in the 70-85k realm I’m trying to figure out what paying an additional 20-30k potentially will get me and if I can coax any potential sellers into reaching out. Just not seeing a ton of cars for sale at the moment. It may be ridiculous to double down but I’m planning to purchase 2 cars—one a driver and one falling into more of the collector realm. If the future prices go up at some point it may make sense to have the driver restored otherwise I can just run it.

Point taken re the economy although any potential savings there may be offset by the higher prices cars seem to bring in the summer months unless things really get tight for a lot of people.

I came very close to pulling the trigger on the beautiful 328 gts listed here by Mike but passed (congrats to buyer and seller!). It seems like it’s a lot easier to find a great 328 than early 308. Maybe because the 308s were cheap for so long they tended to get less TLC? I pulled back on that car as I wasn’t sure where I could store it but I’ve since found a friend willing to split a commercial shop space with me. Kicking myself a little over missing out on the 328 but the 308 and especially a GTB calls more strongly.

Anyway this is where I’m coming from. I appreciate the leads and advice.
