Did not see in person but it looked about like Bianco Cervino to me... I don't think that it replaces Bianco King on the top rung.
I should add I think Artico has a bit of a metallic in it, whereas I think Cervino is a non metallic color. I think the Artico is pretty chic, but thats a personal reaction. The Cervino is for when you want the car to be a pretty white white, vs some of the older bianco choices, which are a little more creamy.
My 296 is cervino and I had a sample of artico yesterday but stupid me forgot to take a pic of them together. Anyways artico has a very light grey shade and is metallic like you said, but only slightly. Cervino is completely white and flat. 2nd and 3rd pics are artico. I saw that car at Miami launch. I would say Bianco Artico has porcelain quality. Imagine the exterior of space ship in the 2001 Space Odyssey movie. That kind of vibe. People who saw that on 12C at the launch liked it.
Your porcelain comment reminded me of this special 'one-off' porcelain paint 599 that Ferrari raised 1.77mil for charity with. Image Unavailable, Please Login Somewhat different than what you are implying though!
Jean, Did it actually look white? The Bianco Artico color swatch at my dealership looks like a silver grey. I really want a metallic white color for my car. But, the swatch has me nervous. I almost feel like it might be mislabeled. Looking at pictures will not calm me down. So, knowing what your eyes actually observed would prove useful. Thanks!
White is a very difficult color to define. It almost always needs to be compared to another white right next to it to see if one is more yellow or grayish. So looking at the Bianco Artico 12 C alone, it just looks like a white Ferrari. But it has that grayish tone to it as you mentioned. I said porcelain because of that gray tone. Just imagine the space ship color in any Sci fi movie such as Star Wars. One could say that is white or gray. Considering that the design team actually thought about the space ship in the movie 2001 A Space Odyssey when designing 12 C as shown in one of Manzoni’s presentations. Bianco Artico is a befitting color for a 12 Cilindri.
Let's not get too carried away romanticizing that color. Bianco Artico was previously shown on the intro version of the more aggressive SF90 XX showcar. Bianco King is well named; when you want an impressive shade of white.
ARTICO means ARCTIC. Never been there! CERVINO refers to the Italian side of the Matterhorn in CH, a place my family used to spend summers for over 20 years. The town Zermatt is lovely.
I recall watching a Jay Leno’s Garage video featuring a light blue open Ferrari from the late 50’s . 500 Mondial series 2. Quattro Cilindri! Unusual shade of blue. Deeper shade than this 12C. Red interior paired with French racing blue paint
that's what I am doing. very patiently waiting on the next allocation which I am told is days away and then I am a lock. the only hanging chad for me has been the color and material of the roof liner. landed on leather but I loved Alcantara on my Roma. I was considering white so super intresteted to see one in the wild. I have never done a green and was a little nervous until I saw the car live at the challenge races in Toscano...stunning to my eyes
Big Congrats on getting an early car! So thrilled for you! I also like white and it’s myriad variants for the 12 C Black or red or beige or Chocolate leather interiors pair well! And yes, don’t fight the designers mix of Alcantara inside. If you are really daring and don’t wear jeans then white leather is tres chic! Which rims? Standard cast alloys which unfortunately can’t be paired with Ti lug bolts (from the factory with the discount) Or the more modern forged?
Going w standard cast in the lighter finish. A little more classic gt. I like both but some of the comments here killed the forged with the comparison to Kia Hard to unsee it in my head. You?
Exactly my take on the forged wheels In ten months time will look like a dated men's suit with huge over-sized flapping lapels!
OK So ive gone from Argento N which is a lovely color but perhaps not optimal for the 12 C due to its large form factor.. Silver has nice contrast with the black trim stripe and rear either Delta (coupe) or tail 'feathers' on the spider. Then I moved to glossy Nero non-metallic black. But them the whole car looses some of the power of the design. Where to go next? Grigio Titanio? Or a red? 30 year anniversary a la 812? That was a 3 coat expensive paint! Close to 30K back in the day. Today maybe 45K! Grigio Silverstone is sort of dull and dark. in that case Nero DS glossy might be better! I feel esp bad for my sales person who happens to be the manager. He suffers greatly having me as his client. I'll need to think of a new gift to surprise him with. Wine , chocolates, Italian cookies, and canolli seemed to work in the past.
Depending on the look you want; Rosso Fuoco is one of the very best 'reds' you can choose. I have convinced my self that I will not pay for any special paint ... so I need to pick something that's available on the configurator. But I am torn... I have no idea which direction to go even though I was leaning towards Rosso Imola at first.
