    I am planning a 12cyl addition to da family and would like to pose a question:
    Hypothetically, would a shop tend to charge differently for the same level of work on a 12; based solely on what model it happens to reside in?

    to illustrate: 400/412 = "Bend over"
    Testarossa/Boxer = "Bend over and tell me you love me!"

    (sorry about the innuendo)

    Nope..If you are taking to a shop which has delt with Ferrari's for a long time..they will charge what the job is worth. The 400 series 12's are quit involved engines and the engine bay is not forgiving. Generaly service costs on the 400 seires Ferrari's is higher then a TR or Boxer, save for the engine out major on the TR/Boxer models of course.

    It also depends if you get a carbed version of the model vs the injected (well with the TR you really don't have a choice). Labor rates go up and down with the complexity of the job at hand. Changing plugs on a TR or Boxer..20minute job. Changing plugs on a 400 series..a bit more involved so the labor is going to be higher..

    Probably four guys, if they can keep out of each other's way....
