OK, enough of the few uppity-snob people on this board who always have to comment, or have a signature that says that only 12-cylinder Ferraris are REAL Ferraris. How obnoxious can one get?

Can someone tell me how I can set up a signature line on my messages that says "Those Who Don't Like 8 Cylinder Ferraris Are Uppity Snobs"

    Thanks very much,

    Joe G

Just take solace in the fact that their 12's are probably only running on 11 anyway.

I think most are just participating in playful banter and are not really 12 cyl snobs. I'm a 10 fingered jackass, is that somethin?

V-8s are real Ferraris. It is just the V-12s is what Mr. Ferrari thought was the best and I agree with Mr. Ferrari.

Any Ferrari is better than any other car made.

    Only drive 12 cylinders.

Well, after the overwhelming expense of not one but THREE 12 cylinder F cars, and an 8 for good measure, a subscription wasn't too hard to swallow.

Hang in there you'll make it. ;)

Enzo Ferrari said a lot of things at various times, but that did not stop him from campaigning (and selling) 4 cylinder cars, 6 cylinder cars, 8 cylinder cars and twelves. Heck, the current team even runs a 10 pot these days!

Enzo also said that front engine cars were what he thought was right, but soon after that came 365 and 512 Boxers, Testarossas, 308's etc etc.

If it sold and he could use the money to race with, he did it.

So I really don't put too much store in Enzo's quotations taken way out of context. I just enjoy the cars and if it has a Ferrari badge on it and was built in Maranello, it's a Ferrari.

This 12-cyl/8-cyl thing rolls off my back - I drive a 348 so the nuances are lost on me.

    Cheers

I guess there is nothing wrong with a V-8 as long as it has 2 TURBO'S!!

first you must pay a subscription on here to have a signature and as you only have a 8 cylinder car you would be wasting your $10 as proper ferrari's have 12 cylinders in the rear so really you should get discount on membership as you only have 2/3 of a ferrari

The Six Cylinder car was the only one Enzo dedicated to his son and no man should have a greater love than than for his children

All things being equal I'd love a 12 in my future; but the 308/Mondial series are 8's so what can you do? The 412 is nice but try and find a 5 speed. The Boxers are too big bucks for me, as are Testarossas. Maintainence is a lot on these compared to the 8's no matter what anyone says. So for the "lower run" Ferrari guys, there's much more to choose from if you're not married to 12 cylinders.

12 cylinders is not snobbery. Just to prove that's the case I'm going out tomorrow and buy my Butler a 355 :D:D
